Taking Action to Help Japan Flood Victims
Our hearts go out to the people of Japan who have been affected by the most recent extreme weather event and natural disaster. As of this posting, at least 100 people have lost their lives, and many more have lost their homes, after record-breaking heavy rain caused widespread floods and landslides in western Japan, including the entire Kyushu region.
Our coworkers in the KEEN Japan office are all safe, and we are working together to support disaster relief as soon as possible—with up to $50,000 in matched funds and 200 steel-toe KEEN Utility boots for volunteers on the ground.
From July 10th to August 9th, donations made via the Japan disaster relief organization OPEN JAPAN will be matched by KEEN. (For those in the U.S. who would like to join this disaster relief effort, Google Translate can make this Japanese site easier to navigate. Arigato!)
Together, let’s take action for a better world.
Since 2003, we’ve donated more than $17 million to nonprofit organizations and causes around the world through disaster relief, shoe donations, and grants. Learn more about our history of taking action and how we put our values in motion.
