Artist and impact maker Max Romey created a short film about PFAS forever chemicals, "A Little Story About Forever," at his kitchen table in Alaska. Now he is standing behind the podium at some of the most prestigious film festivals in the world...
...like the 2025 Jackson Wild Media Awards for excellence in nature, science, and conservation storytelling, where his KEEN Effect Film was a finalist in two categories and won the award for Best Branded Content. Follow Max as he goes behind the scenes at Jackson Wild with his custom-made tiny Newport sandal mic (!!!) and chats with leading filmmakers and environmentalists about why environmental storytelling matters.
This KEEN Effect film also recently won the Creative Excellence award at the Banff Mountain Film Festival:
"The jury felt that this film was a shining example of creative excellence—an exquisite visual composition, where every frame was crafted with care. Centered around a charming father and son relationship with just a dash of Hollywood, the work reminds us that artistry lies not only in big spectacle, but in the ability to reveal the extraordinary within the everyday. A tender, visionary achievement, it’s a testament to the power of the imagination—and reminds us that sometimes, big messages can come in small packages."
- Dina Mufti, jury member, Banff Mountain Film Festival
Congratulations, Max!
