Built in Kentucky for a Lighter Footprint

Did you know that about 1 in 3 KEEN shoes are made in our own factories, including our factory here in the U.S.?

Since 2009, we've been assembling shoes and boots in America. Earlier this year, we relocated our U.S. factory from Portland, Oregon, to Shepherdsville, Kentucky, so we can double the amount we make here, ship faster, and reduce our carbon footprint.

Our distribution center is also in Shepherdsville. So instead of shipping thousands of shoes and boots from Portland to Kentucky to be packed up to ship to our Fans, now we can make them and ship them from the same place. Based on shipping alone, this move is estimated to reduce KEEN’s production of CO2 by 2,800 tons in a calendar year – with shipping time as fast as two days for 85% of mailing addresses.

We relocated all machinery and equipment, so we can continue to produce Consciously Created footwear with state-of-the-art technology, like KEEN.FUSION, which helps us create more durable footwear with less harmful materials (like glues or solvents).

The KEEN American Built collection currently consists of about 20 styles, including the Targhee IV work boot, Liberty boot, Durand II hiking boot, and Mt Vernon II work boot. Learn more at www.keenfootwear.com/american-built
