#IWD2022: How You Live With No Ceiling
We’ve always thought of outside as anywhere without a ceiling. And inspiring everyone to live with no ceiling is why we’re here. It’s what gets us out of bed every morning.
This International Women’s Day, we’re the ones feeling super inspired BY YOU. Women who are pushing boundaries and overcoming obstacles to #LiveWithNoCeiling. We recently met up with a few such trailblazers in Los Angeles, California: artist Devyn Galindo, athlete Alyssa Gonzalez, and photographer Micheli Oliver. They’re all part of underrepresented communities, breaking down barriers and helping make outside more welcoming and inclusive for all women.
"Those small little things that you change in your daily practice are the seeds that you plant through your whole community and everybody around you."
– Devyn Galindo, a queer, Chicanx, Two-Spirit artist and photographer
We wanted to hear what living with no ceiling means to them and how one person can make a positive impact on their community and the world. Their reflections generated laughter, tears, hugs, and awe. We compiled them in this short video, and we hope you find them moving, too.
Let’s All #LiveWithNoCeiling
Women in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and Europe shared how they live with no ceiling every day — from a nomadic mom in Sweden to a BIPOC advocate in Canada. Here are each of their stories in 30-second clips:
• Lauren, a body positive and mental health advocate
• Val, a mom who’s living the nomadic life with her kids
• Dr. Jacqui, a Yakama mixed naturopathic doctor & plant medicine person
• Iku, a yoga and SUP instructor
• Ramnik, a university student and BIPOC advocate
• Devyn, a queer, Chicanx, Two-Spirit artist and photographer
• Micheli, a photographer and descendant of the Niitsítapi peoples
