Delivering TLC to Fans & Forest in Kentucky

When the KEENers who thoughtfully package up your KEEN shoes aren't working hard to get your online order to you, they're delivering extra care to the nature in their backyard. 

Our Fan Engagement Center (FEC) in Shepherdsville, KY – which puts every KEEN shoe, sandal, and boot ordered at keenfootwear.com into the hands of our fans across the United States – has partnered with the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest for years. FEC KEENers use employee volunteer hours to build structures, maintain trails, and tend to the 16,000 acre+ arboretum, forest, and nature preserve located just outside Shepherdsville. 

In 2023, we further invested in Bernheim Arboretum’s mission of helping folks learn from nature with a $10,000 grant to fund the Backside Summer Camp, which connects children of Churchill Downs workers with the natural world. Here's a peek inside the FEC and this inspiring partnership.
