Comfort Meets Caring

For 10 days every year, the streets in the Fukagawa district of Tokyo, Japan, become an open-air art museum for all. In every way. Because among the famous shrines and temples are hundreds of pieces of art made by people with disabilities.

The Artpara Fukagawa festival is on a mission to use the power of art to bring people together, create dialogue and awareness, and facilitate solutions, such as housing and income.

And now you don’t have to travel to Japan to be part of it – because we’ve brought some of the artwork from the festival to our shoes!

Kujira To Nakama Tachi (Whale and Friends), by Koki Kinoshita, printed on our men's and women's Yogui clog.

"When I look at this wonderful work of art, it makes me think, 'What does disability refer to?' I can't help but hope that the activities of Artpara Fukagawa will be an opportunity for each and every one of us to ask such questions and become a person who can change society for the better." - Naoko Matsushima, Artpara Fukagawa

Shiosai (Sound of the Sea), by Kenji Nishimura, printed on our women's Shanti clog

Our super comfy Yogui and Shanti open-air clogs feature two pieces of art from the festival: Koki Kinoshita's dynamic and intricate "Kujira To Nakama Tachi" (Whale and Friends) and Kenji Nishimura's colorful sound of the sea, "Shiosai.” A portion of the proceeds go to Artpara Fukagawa artists to make a bigger positive effect.

Living with no ceiling meets art with no ceiling. It’s a collab collection that celebrates our common vision of inclusivity and bringing folks together outside. Shop our Artpara Fukagawa collection here.
