A Little Story About Forever

10-MIN WATCH: This short film, created on a kitchen table using watercolors and imagination, follows a father (Max) and his 2.5-year-old son (Kip) as they attempt to write a book about what forever means. The father feels overwhelmed by all of the threats to forever, like forever chemicals, and calls an unlikely hero – Mark Ruffalo – to ask for help seeing the big picture.

Growing up dyslexic in Alaska and upstate New York, Max always struggled to share the outdoors with words, so he turned to his sketchbook and camera. He mixes the two to visually show the complex connections and stories of the outside world.

“I think when the world feels so dark it’s important to have a message of hope. Sometimes you need a little bit of watercolor and help from a 2.5-year-old to see things in a new way.”
