Not sure.....I want to LOVE them!

    4

I had a pair of these boots before and loved them. I bought this new pair and had to send them back because they were too small. This pair that I received is a half size bigger, but now I am having issues walking down hill. Going up is great and I LOVE them, but my toes are really jamming into the front when I walk downhill, I have gone on 4 hikes in them. I have tried different sock types and also wore my old boots to see if I had this issue, which I didn't. I love how waterproof they are and the support, just wish my toes didn't hurt when walking downhill.

Comfortable boot, but doesn't wear well

So first of all, this may be the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn, and it is my second pair of the Targhee II boots. I tried the Targhee III, but somehow with the modifications and streamlining it pinched the top of my foot, so I ordered my second pair of these online in March. They are extremely comfortable and I wear them for anything from grocery shopping to 13 mile hikes and anything in between. They are waterproof to start with, though mine aren't anymore after 8 months of regular use. Comfort wise, I have loved these boots. However, I am disappointed in how they have held up. My first pair held up for almost two years and then started splitting, the upper separating from the sole. This current pair already has a two inch split, same spot, and I only bought them in March. I would have hoped they'd last at least a year! Again, comfort wise, these boots are great. But I'd have reservations recommending them for someone who plans to wear them a lot.

I would buy this product again!

I use my Keen boots for walking as exercise in the snow and slush. In Michigan I need them about 6 months out of the year. They needed no breaking in. However I did get a blister the first time out due to a bunched up sock. That was just a one time thing.

I have already bought this product again and again

I wear these boots nearly everyday, all year round. I wear them to work everyday (I work outside a lot), hiking (the waterproofing hasn't failed me yet!), and for just about everything. I have them tied loose so I can slip them on and off, and when I need them tighter I'll pull the laces tight and hook them on the side hooks. This will be my 3rd pair of this same shoe over the last few years. My last pair lasted me a year and half of constant wearing and they are still good and waterproof, just a little beat up at this point. These boots are perfect for everyday wear or just for hiking (they'll last much longer if not worn everyday ;)) Definitely a fan of these boots! PS These are not winter boots. They are great for winter because of the waterproofing, but will not keep toes warm if standing in cold weather for longer periods of time, even with wool socks on (But are great for running errands when it's snowing or even small walks in the cold, but for sufficient warmth invest in winter boots too; they are next on my shopping list!)

I would definitely buy this product again

    4

I recently purchased the Targhee II hiking boot and just completed a 7-day backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. The boots worked great and as usual (from my experience with Keens) - they required very little break-in time (maybe I'm just lucky). I really like the soles on these boots, the rubber is a bit softer than vibrum soles and so they are more 'grippy' on rocks (this is especially true in on wet trails with lots of roots). This is my 4th or 5th pair of Targhee IIs, and my go-to hiking boot.

Perfect fit and comfort instantly!! I have several pairs!!

I work for the local Parks Dept and have ordered several pairs of these boots, as well as several other styles/colors and have had to return only once...I didn't like the color in person! KEEN sizing is true-to-size and each pair has felt like it was made for me! I cannot say enough good things about this company, their products and their exceptional services!!!

    Comfortable and sturdy

    5

I love Keens and have several. I live on 5 acres of uneven ground and always wear these outside when I'm tromping around. My ankles and my step feel secure with every step. My feet are comfortable. I'm just as likely to keep them on at the grocery store or anywhere else I go. I'd wear them to work if I could. Excellent shoes. My feet are somewhat wide, and I am able to order the regular width. Anything that laces is pretty flexible, and that Keen toe box is awesome.

    Disappointed for many reasons

    2

I am disappointed with Keen for a few reasons. The first is a simple one. I wrote a review on these boots back in late September and for some reason they did not post it. Shouldn't a review, even a negative one be available for others to read? There was no foul language used. The review was on why these boots were not the right ones for me and what I needed. I for one appreciate honest and constructive reviews. I have eight other pairs of Keen shoes, ranging from sandals, mary janes, work shoes, to work boots and knee high boots. Every pair I have ever owned has been a size 8.5. This pair was suggested to be running 1/2 size small so order a size up. Sadly, I live in the Florida Keys, so while my first few walks with them to prepare for my upcoming trip, they seemed fine, so I decided to keep them. However, about 3 miles into my hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon I realized the 1/2 size up was too big. My mistake, I took the website suggestion and ran with it. Do I fault Keen for that, no. Again, I live in the Florida Keys, so "breaking in" boots was a bit of a challenge. With this said, I have never had to break in a pair of Keens before. My mistake for thinking these would be different. I walked as much as I could in them, but again on flat ground. Yes my feet had blisters all over them (that was in large part due to the sizing issue), but these also had to be the least comfortable pair of boots I have ever worn. By the end of 4 days of hiking my feet might have been better off hiking barefoot (that is a thing right?). The boots offered little to no support. The pro here, is that after 4 days of hiking they held up great. No signs of super deterioration. Again, I pretty much live in Keens. They are my go to brand, however with this boot it did not work for me. Doesn't mean they wont for you. I believe in giving an honest review. If you are going to buy these, and have other pairs of Keens all with a consistent size, I would say trust that, not the website
