  • 4mm multi directional lugs
  • Contoured heel lock
  • KEEN.Dry waterproof breathable membrane
  • Torsion stability ESS shank

We've carefully selected leather uppers designed to last. Then again, if you're wearing your KEENs daily, they won't always be scuff and dirt-free. ENVIRONMENTALLY PREFERRED LEATHER

Tanning leather is a dirty process. That’s why we source our hides from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries that use processes to reduce chemical use and the impact on our watersheds.

ECO ANTI-ODOR

We’ve turned to nature to eliminate pesticides and biocides from going into the environment. Our footbeds are infused with probiotic technology that naturally breaks down odor in sweat without heavy metals or hazardous chemicals.

PFC-FREE WATER REPELLENCY

Perfluorinated Chemicals (PFCs) are commonly used to repel water on outdoor gear. But these compounds are suspected carcinogens and persist in the environment, so we’ve switched to alternative chemistry that’s safe yet still effective.

Four-wheel-drive performance for your feet.

    Excellent all around hiking boot

    5

This is my second pair of Targhee's. The first pair is almost worn out and I needed a fresh pair for hiking in the Alps this summer. The boot did not need a break in period. It has been used in mud, water, rocks, bogs, etc. I do a lot of day hiking and for the last year this has been my primary boot. I did not want to be without them for the future. For longer hikes and/or backpacking I just purchased the Durand (separate review) to replace Lowas which I have used for many years. The recommendation is to order a slightly larger size and this proved to be correct.

I had this shoes for a few years and only used them for hiking a few times each year. The sides split open while hiking in Ouray Colo. Very disappointing shoe.

I actually have a new pair in the box waiting to get used.

I've searched the world of shoes for something that will work for me. I'm a BIG man....6'4" and weighing a biscuit shy of 440 pounds. These have become the shoes I wear on a daily basis. Generous toe box and very supportive. I purchased because for my yearly trip to the Grand Canyon. At my size I'm still able to do some hiking. I do a piece of the South Kaibab and Hermit's Rest trails. I also hike the trail to the "White House" indian ruin in Canyon de Chelly. The pair I'm wearing now is going on their second year. Any pair of shoes that lasts under me for over 12 months is a quality pair of shoes. Other than coming unglued the soles actually show very little wear. I'm very impressed. I've had a similar issue to some of the other reviewers. The sole does come unglued. I've used Shoe GOO to put them back together numerous times.

Yes, but I would be very careful.

This boot is a great design. Lightweight with little arch support. Many shoes, these days have arch bruising support and I can't wear them. The reason I gave this rating 3 stars is that the quality control of the manufacturing is subpar. Let me explain. In the retail store, I tried on a pair and the material inside the shoe, near the toes, was bunched up and pressed on my toes, near the nail. Ouch!. I showed the clerk and she gave me another pair to try on. Good, nice fit, way to go. I bought them and all was fine for about a month when the leather separated from the inside near the front of the boot. I tried to take them back but they had a one-month return policy. So, I contacted keen under warranty. They were very helpful and after a few exchanged pictures of the boots and a recept, I was sent another new pair. Great, except the inside footbed, was bunched up (corrugated) under the insert. Felt like my socks were bunched up. Lucky for me, it was not the boot on the side that failed in the original pair. So, I made one set out of two and they are great. Like I say, the boots are a great lightweight design and I like them but Keen needs to work on their quality control. Thanks....

The most comfortable boots I own... again!

    5

This is the third pair of Targhee II Mids that I've owned now, and they are still as great as ever. If you're looking for a reliable year-round boot, you will not go wrong with them. I tried the Targhee III, which didn't fit my foot as well, but the Keen Braddock 6" work boots fit me wonderfully. Point being, try as many styles as you can, but rest assured you will find something that will never let you down. FYI, the customer service can't be beat! -Chris

Rubber comes off after moderate use

    2

Extremely comfortable boots. However, ultimately dissatisfied. Mild to moderate use has led to the rubber coming unglued at exactly one year. I will be looking for another brand, as I have very wide feet and there are continued reports of the Targahee 3 wides being narrower in the middle. Sorry keen, I want to love your boots, but this failure does not make me want to repurchase. IF you can confirm that you have started using better glue or materials and all the 2018's were a bad batch, then contact me and we will see what can be done. Otherwise, I'm going to have to pass.

    I really like this boot!!

    5

I have a wide foot and the toe box is always an issue with boots. I either have to get a boot that is a size up and deal with looseness. NOT WITH THESE BOOTS. 13W is perfect and needed almost no break in time. I will say that they are only ok with allowing your feet to breath and the laces could have been a little longer but it is not enough of a worry of mine to take away any stares.

Great shoe, very stable while hiking

    5

Shoes are used for hiking. Usually do one 100 mile hike per summer. When the tread wears down I use the shoes for outside work around the house. Very comfortable shoe.
