  • Rubber comes off after moderate use

    2

Extremely comfortable boots. However, ultimately dissatisfied. Mild to moderate use has led to the rubber coming unglued at exactly one year. I will be looking for another brand, as I have very wide feet and there are continued reports of the Targahee 3 wides being narrower in the middle. Sorry keen, I want to love your boots, but this failure does not make me want to repurchase. IF you can confirm that you have started using better glue or materials and all the 2018's were a bad batch, then contact me and we will see what can be done. Otherwise, I'm going to have to pass.

    I really like this boot!!

I have a wide foot and the toe box is always an issue with boots. I either have to get a boot that is a size up and deal with looseness. NOT WITH THESE BOOTS. 13W is perfect and needed almost no break in time. I will say that they are only ok with allowing your feet to breath and the laces could have been a little longer but it is not enough of a worry of mine to take away any stares.

Great shoe, very stable while hiking

Shoes are used for hiking. Usually do one 100 mile hike per summer. When the tread wears down I use the shoes for outside work around the house. Very comfortable shoe.

    Unsure

    1

They are coming undone at the seams after about 2 weeks of wear but not even worn everyday. They are very comfortable but this is a replacement pair for a pair that was also defective. Really starting to wonder about ever buying another thing from Keen. The customer service was great with the replacement, just really disappointed with these two pair.

    Soles Unglued

    1

After less than a year and a half of wearing these most days the soles of both shoes came unglued. Too bad since I did like the fit and comfort. I realize the boots are out of warranty but only barely so. I bought Keen based on your past reputation. Apparently the quality of your products have diminished. Don't buy Keen.

Wear them almost daily. They are my "Go To" work shoes. I am a ground maintenance person for a large Metro Park System. My job takes me from asphalt paths to unimproved trails and everything in between. The shoes have never failed. I also pronate and have prescription orthotics; the soles wear the best of any shoe I have ever owned. They are comfortable from the first wearing through the lugs wearing down to nubs.

Very disappointed in the manufacturing quality.

I purchased these boots from a fine retailer based on recommendations of others and perceived brand quality. I've been very disappointed. Within the first month the tread cleats began separating from the sole. This created squeaking and also the potential for accidents as the tread cleat would catch on things. I went back to the retailer and they immediately exchanged the boots for a new pair. I thought perhaps it was just a one off thing. I've had the new replacements for 2 months and another tread cleat has failed. This is an unacceptable failure rate. If I had been hiking with these and experienced failures due to heavy wear it might have been understandable, however I've been using these as daily wear so they will be well broken in before hitting any trails. If this is the quality of your current product, you need to change the brand name, these aren't worthy of your past performances.

    Best Hiking Shoe

    5

A few years ago I noticed some people wearing Keen shoes on the coast trail north of Brookings. they spoke very highly of them and it wasn't long before I tried a pair for myself. At sixty-seven, I have worn through many brands of hikers, Merels, Columbia's, HiTecs, Beans and others. This is the best shoe for the trail by far because it fits comfortably and it grabs the trail like no other shoe I've owned. There seems to be an extra round of grabbers on the edge of the sole that you won't find on other shoes and this makes for great stability on eroded trails that often slope downhill and would be slippery in any other shoe. Recently I tried an older shoe and the difference was undeniable.
