Back in 2009 I splurged... Spending $240.00 for a pair of winter boots (non work) at the time seemed ridiculous. Sorels were 40 bucks.. but I'm sure glad I did.

I purchased a now long discontinued pair of what I believe to be the precursor to this boot. The Summit County. It has survived longer then any winter boot I have ever owned.. Period. I don't know what they put in it, but the materials are indestructible. I'm the kind of fellow who uses a single boot for all activities. Only winter boot I have ever had where running in them doesn't feel like you have boards strapped to your feet.

I don't know how many thousands of KM I have put on.. how many times I have spilled fuel on them, or exposed them to grinder sparks.. cutting torch fire.. chemicals, mud, water... everything. There's just no stopping them. Winters in Canada are longer then all the other seasons combined. These boots are on my feet from October to May.. thru every kind of terrain imaginable and they never stop. But now on their 5th set of insoles, the back stitching on the inside of my left boot requires a fresh overlay of tape to keep together. However the outer casing, sole, toe, eyelets and the heel cap, even the elastic draw string are still as fresh as the day I got them. Amazed every time.

I wish I had the foresight to purchase 2 or 3 or 5 extra pairs, but at the time it was trying a new brand out. It's out of sheer curiosity to see just how long these last.

There are not enough stars to show how brilliantly satisfied I am with these boots. Excellent work. Please never stop making them. EVER.

As a surveyor I hike around every day outdoors. This looked to be a pretty decent boot to wear when the temps dip far below zero. I have only had the boots for 10 days but I have a few comments right out of the gates. The warmth of these boots seems to be pretty impressive when active outdoors, almost like there is electric heat. (Haven't had a chance to just stand around in them in the cold yet to know they keep warm while inactive). Traction is not an issue with these soles. After the first day of putting 2 miles in the boots I do not like the length of the removable insole. It only takes a few steps for the insole to slide to the heel of the bootshowever the insoles stop moving rearward when it hits back of boots. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but it leaves my toes about 1/2 inch beyond the front edge which becomes more annoying than uncomfortable. Not sure if they came with the next size down insole or if they just need to be longer. Considering buying a set of gel insoles, but the gel seems like it may get cold compared to the wool esq factory insole. I'd really like a longer set from the factory out of a pair of 11 1/2 size boots. I also recommend applying a leather conditioner to keep the leather water proof and soft. I'm going to keep wearing these and will write another review in a month to relay how they fare. KEEN...Please help me remedy the short insoles!!!

These fit true to size even with bulky hiking socks. I got them for wilderness hiking, hunting and for while riding my Ki1600gt in winter. It was 29*F this AM and I was warm. When it hit 55*F at noon, I was warm...I look forward to comfort while on a real adventure.

Comments about Men's Summit County Waterproof Boot:

I've only had these about 3-4 weeks now & I've worn them everyday since. I bought these for everyday use in the fall, winter & spring months & glad I did, (very comfy, lightweight & non-bulky). Also, very easy to get on & off. I haven't had a chance to wear them in real cold or wet weather yet, but judging from other reviews, I think they,ll be great. Looking forward to future KEEN purchases!

Comments about Men's Summit County Waterproof Boot:

I bought these boots for walking my dog in the snow in Park City, Utah. I love how light weight they are and yet very supportive. This is my 5th pair of Keen boots in the last 10 years , so you can say I like Keen fit and finish. Their quality and attention to detail is above some of the other brands on the market. Plus the fit and longevity of their boots cant be beat.
