I've been buying keen footwear for many years. I started by accident by purchasing a pair of shoes at a garage sale. They lasted a couple of years whereas I usually went through shoes in 6 months. Since then all I buy are keens. I currently have Austin work shoes, mid Targhee hiking boots, Targhee hiking shoes and sandals. Over the years I have noticed in my Austin's as well as the Targhee hiking shoes that the material is just not as lasting as it has been in the past. The sides and toes wear out quicker and the soles leak water within 8-10 months of wear. I have an office job so I am not walking much, but the quality is not the same as it was when I first started buying them. They felt stiffer than before. What I still love about them is that no matter what shoe I where I can generally put them on the first time and walk comfortably whether going to work or hiking. No blisters or break in period needed. That is why I still purchase them.
