I would buy these shoes again!

I am a chef and these are the fourth pair of keens I have bought in the last 10 years. They last and are the most comfortable work shoes I've ever owned.

    Good basic Keen

Similar to my 10 year old Keens. Good shoe with roomy toe box.

The best and most comfortable shoes

    5

I have several pairs of Keens. The Austin is my go to daily shoe, they last a long time, and give my feet great support.

Love the shoes, but no matching replacement laces.

This is my second pair of keen Austins, and they are great shoes that are comfortable and hold up well. Unfortunately the laces fall apart and Keen doesn't offer replacement laces that match the original laces in design and color. The shoes are great quality and last quite a while, but if you can't get replacement laces that match, the longer life of the shoes is kind of a waste as they end up looking mismatched. This will probably be my last pair of these shoes.

possibly greatest shoe I've ever own

    5

I say "possibly" greatest because I can't remember all the shoes I've owned over the years but these are definitely among the best. Usually you don't notice a shoe during the day unless something is wrong but I kept noticing how these Austins were comfortable. Right out of the box, too. They were a little tight getting on and off at first but, once on, no break-in needed. I got compliments. My stylish granddaughter thought the stitching on the side was "fashionable." Austins aren't billed as waterproof but I walked during a downpour and my feet stayed dry. I've had them for just over a month so I can't comment on longevity but so far these are great shoes.

Great shoes but the laces are terrible.

I love theses shoes for style and comfort, but Keen missed the mark with the shoe laces. First the laces are too bulky and stuff, then they started falling apart. Very disappointed. I'd recommend these shoes but if you do buy them I'd start trying to find spare laces soon.

    Something's changed

    3

I've been wearing Keens for over a decade and have been through multiple pairs of Austins. When my last pair gave out, I eagerly ordered a new one. I was disappointed with the result. The new pair are much stiffer than the older ones ever were and even now, after three months of breaking in, they're still not especially comfortable. Also, within a month of purchase, the laces on one shoe started to fray and I'm here on the site today to find a replacement set. I'm pretty bummed by the decline in quality I'm experiencing, particularly since my older pairs of shoes have been some of the most comfortable I'd ever owned.

    Jury still out

I bought these shoes because my Keen hiking boots were extremely comfortable and fit perfectly. These shoes don't feel like they fit as well out of the box. They seem to run a little big. They seem a little stiff too but I need to give them time to break in.

I give it 3 1/2 stars. Losing quality

    3

I've been buying keen footwear for many years. I started by accident by purchasing a pair of shoes at a garage sale. They lasted a couple of years whereas I usually went through shoes in 6 months. Since then all I buy are keens. I currently have Austin work shoes, mid Targhee hiking boots, Targhee hiking shoes and sandals. Over the years I have noticed in my Austin's as well as the Targhee hiking shoes that the material is just not as lasting as it has been in the past. The sides and toes wear out quicker and the soles leak water within 8-10 months of wear. I have an office job so I am not walking much, but the quality is not the same as it was when I first started buying them. They felt stiffer than before. What I still love about them is that no matter what shoe I where I can generally put them on the first time and walk comfortably whether going to work or hiking. No blisters or break in period needed. That is why I still purchase them.
