Independence Waterproof Work Boots
When you work hard, you need a boot that just works. That’s why KEEN Utility created Independence work boots, a series of hard-working boots with get-it-done grit. Tough and versatile, they’re built with American ingenuity to keep you protected on the job and performing at your best.
Independence work boots have a full-grain leather upper and a KEEN.DRY waterproof, breathable membrane that keeps feet dry when the job takes you outside in wet weather. An air-injected KEEN Luftcell midsole with a weightless feel provides all-day support for construction workers, plumbers, and anyone who spends long hours on their feet. An oil- and slip-resistant outsole offers secure grip.
Independence work boots are available in 6” and 8” versions with lightweight, asymmetrical carbon safety toes and a 6” version with soft toes. An Electrical Hazard (EH)-rated outsole makes them a good choice for engineers, electricians, and maintenance workers.
American Built Work Boots
The Independence series is the newest boot in the American Built collection. American Built boots are assembled in the Pacific Northwest using carefully sourced materials from around the world. Our manufacturing facility combines time-honored, hands-on construction techniques with modern technologies to ensure our boots meet the highest standards of quality and durability. We take special pride in building them, so you can take pride in getting the job done while wearing them.
Weather Protection
In a perfect world, it would be 72 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny every day. Because we live in a world with steady drizzles, sudden downpours, and rapidly changing jobsite conditions, we built the Independence series with a waterproof and breathable KEEN.DRY membrane. It allows heat and vapor from sweat to escape while preventing water from getting in. The result is feet that stay dry as you navigate wet or muddy jobsites.
A Strong Foundation
Varied surfaces and changing jobsite conditions require a grippy outsole you can depend on. That’s why the Independence series rides on a KEEN.ToughSole outsole. It’s oil- and slip-resistant to help guard against trips, slips, and falls — the most common workplace hazards. It’s also lighter and more durable than rubber, so it’s built to last and won’t weigh you down.
Built For How You Work
When you’re working with heavy machinery in tough conditions, safety hazards come with the job. Independence boots are built with multiple KEEN Utility safety features, including carbon safety toes and an Electrical Hazard (EH)-rated outsole.
Non-metallic, reinforced carbon toes protect against impact and are 15% lighter than steel toes. An asymmetrical design with a left- and right-specific shape allows your toes to spread and flex naturally for a better fit than traditional safety toes. Combined with KEEN Luftcell air-infused cushioning, safety toes that are lighter in weight leave you feeling energized and light on your feet from clock-in to clock-out. Independence work boots are also available in a soft toe version that safeguards against minor impacts without providing secondary crush resistance.
The Electrical Hazard (EH)-rated outsole offers another source of protection and reduces the potential for electrical shock should the outsole come in contact with a live electrical circuit. This safety feature ensures the boots are well-suited for carpentry work or any job that involves exposed wiring
Your Everyday Work Boot
The Independence is a do-it-all boot made to handle a wide variety of environments and tasks. Its lightweight feel and durable, waterproof construction make it a versatile choice for all kinds of work. Because it’s assembled with pride by American workers, it’s also a boot you can feel good about wearing, day in and day out.
