HEAVY DUTY WORK BOOTS AND SHOES
Not all jobs are created equal. Some are dirty, difficult, and dangerous. If your work involves hazardous conditions and treacherous terrain, KEEN Utility makes boots for you. Heavy-duty boots that are as tough and hard-working as you are. Whether you work in aerospace or mining, at a construction site or the top of a utility pole, choosing the right boot for the work you do can make the job feel easier. How do you determine which work boots are right for you? Find the statement below that describes you best.
“I like the look and feel of a wedge outsole.”
If your job requires a heavy-duty boot but you appreciate the wearability of a wedge outsole, the men’s and women’s Cincinnati boot checks all the boxes for both durability and ease. Barnyard-resistant leather resists the effects of oleic acid, urea, sodium chloride, and ammonium hydroxide to extend the life of your boots. Goodyear welt construction stands up to extreme working conditions and means the boots can be easily resoled for years to come. Our KEEN Luftcell midsole is air-infused to keep you feeling light on your feet, even when it’s your fourth 12-hour shift of the week.
A waterproof version is available with either a KEEN.PROTECT soft toe or a carbon toe. The boot is available in a 6” and 8” height for both men and women.
“Great boot. I do HVAC and climb up and down ladders all day. I live in Minnesota so the boots are exposed to snow and cold. Feet stay dry and warm.” - Chris
“These were exactly what I was looking for. Toe room, softer ankle for mobility, great leather, great outsole, and safety rated so OSHA won't get my a**. I work 10 hour days, hard-work, rinse, and repeat. Comfortable from the first time I put them on and built like a tank but still soft to the foot. Plus these things stay dry, so my feet won't end up uglier than they already are. I won't buy another work boot ever again.” - Dutch A.
“I got these boots for shop work but have actually been using them for landscaping and some pretty harsh forestry work. They're amazing standing on concrete all day and absolutely tough as hell in the woods. Super impressed that I've found what could be the ultimate all-rounder workhorse. I have an old ankle injury and a lot of footwear gives me trouble when I'm on my feet for long days. These are the only work boots I've ever had that keep me comfortable for 12 hours straight.” - Randy
“I’m up and down ladders and in and out of crawl spaces all day.”
If you’re looking for a work boot with built-in flexibility, the men’s Troy 6” waterproof boot is the one we recommend. It comes equipped with a carbon toe for lightweight, non-metallic protection. KEEN.BELLOWS FLEX allows your feet to bend and flex easily, which is ideal for HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and anyone else who has to kneel, crouch, bend, or climb on the job. The KEEN LuftCore heel is air-injected to absorb shock and provide extra cushioning. And they’re part of the American Built collection, so you can wear them with pride.
“When I saw the flex in these boots I had to try them because I crawl in and out of things at work and work on one knee often. They have far exceeded my expectations. They felt great out of the box!” - Jim
“My first pair of KEEN boots, and I am pretty impressed. Very good on the feet right out of the box. I work 10 hours a day 6 days a week in construction, and I do a lot of steps in the course of the day. The flex point in the boot is a concern for me with many boots. So far so good with the seams on this pair. I love the American made aspect of these boots as well.” - Kyle
“I put my boots through the wringer.”
When you work in the toughest conditions, you need the toughest boots. The men’s Philadelphia boot series is built to stand up to unrelenting terrain and corrosive elements. Barnyard-resistant leather resists most chemicals and minerals, while a KEEN.DRY membrane keeps feet dry while allowing them to breathe. A KEEN Luftcell midsole offers lightweight cushioning for wearability on long shifts. An oil- and slip-resistant outsole with a 90-degree heel keeps your footing secure on inclines, rock piles, and slippery stairs. They’re available in 6” and 8” styles, including a pull-on Wellington and versions with an internal metatarsal guard and puncture-resistant plate options. Two insulated versions featuring KEEN.WARM insulation are available: 400g or 600g which also has a KEEN.POLAR TRACTION outsole to pierce icy surfaces and keep you moving safely in frigid conditions.
“These bad boys have been put through everything - mud, water, grease, snow, electrical shock, drops to the toe, slippery surfaces, ice-melt, nails, etc. Though rigid, providing plenty of ankle support, they're flexible, allowing one to kneel without issue. They're plenty waterproof for small puddles before muck boots are needed.” - Tyler
“Such a solid product. After more than 5 twelve-hour days in them, landscaping and groundskeeping, I can assure you these were made for workers.” - Kris
Ladders, roofs, or basements. Wherever your work takes you, you can count on the men’s Mt Vernon boot for dependable grip in all kinds of weather and on all kinds of surfaces. Built for medium to heavy-duty jobs, it stands up to the daily wear and tear that comes with hard work. A waterproof leather upper and KEEN.DRY membrane work together to keep feet dry on rain-soaked job sites. An oil and slip-resistant rubber outsole keeps you steady on your feet.
“I work in an automotive shop environment where the floors are littered with spots of fresh oil, steel grates, and concrete. The boot is very robust and sure footed. I was a carpenter for 20 years and wish this boot was available back then!” - Chuck
“I'm a big guy, I'm 280lbs and stand 6'5' tall. I'm rough on boots just standing or walking around, let alone hard physical labor. I work on a road paving crew, drive heavy equipment and a snow plow. I've owned two of these boots over a four year period and have had no issues with them. The sole takes a long time to wear down, and I've never noticed the boot coming apart any place. They have a nice wide toe box and can be fitted with your own orthotics for arch and pronation support which is very important to me. This is a fantastic boot. ” - Joe
