I'm loving these shoes and I am hard to fit. I need a wide toe box but not a wide shoe. And now that I've been wearing custom orthodoics for Morton's Neuroma I'm even more hard pressed to find any shoe other than my well worn gym shoes! They're so cute and versatile, I got the Silver Birch which is so nice, and it does not look like they are will show the dirt as time goes on. I'm usually a size 8 in Keen shoes (smaller size in sandals) and these are size 8 and fit well.

This shoe should have been perfect for me: cute, waterproof, and lightweight. Having read the reviews about the narrowness I tried them on in store and paid careful attention to the narrow toe box. I stood on the "climbing" hill with my toes pointed downward. While I could tell the shoe was narrower it still felt good. The store didn't have the color I wanted in stock, so I ordered them. They still fit great in the house. Then I wore them on an actual trail. Within 15-20 minutes the narrow toebox became an issue. My toes were pounded and sore by the end of the one hour walk. They're not wearable for their designed purpose. I'm going to have to return them.

I don't understand the logic behind narrowing this shoe. Were people complaining that their toes just had too much room?? Keen has always been a reliable shoe for me, but if this is the future of their design then I won't be buying them any longer.

As a petite person, it's challenging for me to find shoes that fit properly. I have these in a size 5.5 and they are the best hiking shoes I've ever owned. I LOVE them.

        Great Fit and Support

        By

        from Grass Valley, California

This is my casual shoe and one I used for fitness. I have a very narrow foot (10.5 AA) but require a wide toe box. And I wear an orthodic (Good Feet) for a very high instep. This shoe is perfect. I get the space I need for my toes (big toe has freedom) and the rest of my narrow foot has support.

I was a bit hesistant to order these after reading some of the reviews, but I am glad I did! Of course they don't fit wide feet well, since they are designed to be narrower than their regular boots (which I also love and wear). My feet are normal, I don't usually have problems fitting widthwise into any shoe. I'd say these fit like a tennis shoe, but with a roomier toe. I love that they don't make my feet look gigantic, which is a big deal when you're sporting size 10s. By the way, they seem to fit true to size. Love the grippy soles and the more feminine colors! Only complaint is that I waited forever for the white ones in waterproof and they still aren't in stock so I had to downgrade to these.

        They are ok.

        By

        from Marshfield, WI

        Pros

        • Lighter weight shoe.
        • The colors.
        • Waterproof.

        Cons

        • Left shoe squeaks, even without the orthotics.
        • Not a lot of room in the toe box.
        • Run Narrow.

        Best Uses

I bought these because I love KEEN shoes. For summer, I like the lighter weight (yet waterproof) shoes. I also like the blue color (has purple accents). I ordered a 1/2 size up to accommodate my orthotics. They seem longer than other KEENs because they are more narrow. Hoping the squeaking (only in the left shoe) stops soon. It is not from my orthotics because they have been sent off for repadding, so I have just been using the insert they come with. It sounds a lot like a flip flop hit the underside of the foot. If it weren't for the noise of the left shoe, I would have given it 4 stars. To get a 5, they would need to be a little wider with more toe room.
