  • Comfortable but not durable

The shoes are very comfortable and didn't take long to break in however after getting them wet once, they are no longer waterproof. The sides have ripped after only having bought them in October 2018 and I only wore them a couple times.

I love hiking in this shoe. the flexibility is amazingly comfortable, keeps my feet dry. The only problem is my feet feel a little hot after wearing for a few hours.

    Extremely comfortable, but not durable

I love these shoes so much, but was a bit disappointed that they are not as durable as I would have expected, which is why I did not give them a 5 star rating. I bought my first pair at an outdoors store where I live (Seattle, where is it frequently wet and rainy most of the year) and they developed holes on the sides at the point in the shoe where my toes meet my forefoot after only four months of regular wear. I just bought a backup pair, but am worried that they will also develop holes on the sides. The purple/blue color is my favorite and goes well with a pair of blue jeans, so I really want these shoes to last a long time. I bought my first pair initially for riding my bike to work in the rain because they are waterproof, high top, and sleeker than regular, clunky hiking boots. These shoes were so comfortable, I then started wearing them for walks around my neighborhood too. They saved me twice from spraining my ankle as the narrow heel profile, but generous toe box and high top fit kept my foot stable in the boot, even when accidentally rolling my ankle off deep cracks in the sidewalk.

Not. Super light weight and thin.

Just got these and disappointed in the sole and support they have. Very thin sole. They are ok around the house but would never wear them hiking. It would be like hiking in water shoes. No comparison to Tarhees that I love. If you want a hiking shoe then look elsewhere, trip to the grocery store would do fine.

    Great Day Hiker

    4

I bought these to replace an old pair of Keens I've been using for day hikes and so far really love them. They are comfortable and light and kept me dry sloshing through creeks. I've only hiked in them six times so far but all hikes have been pretty hilly (hello Chimney Tops in the Smokies!). I could feel the bigger rock edges beneath my feet, not painful or anything but I wouldn't use them backpacking.

Not Breathable - Would not recommend!

    1

I've been farming and gardening professionally in Keens for 10+ years (literally all that I wear to work) and was hopeful for the lightweight breathable membrane in these shoes. They were anything but breathable! My feet were so hot and sweaty, and when already working in the heat, I just can't deal with that. Tried them out again on a cold day to see if it was a fluke and same thing. Customer service denied my warranty claim since nothing was visibly wrong with the shoes, and I was 6 days out of the 30 day return policy. Really disappointing, especially to a loyal customer. Now I'm stuck with sweaty shoes - gross!

Live in Northern Michigan, bought these for walking the dog in the mush once it gets snowy. Only have a few miles on them but I love em.

I LOVED this boot! It was the best fitting hiking boot I've ever tried. Unfortunately, I've gone through 3 pairs in less than a year. Since I am really more of a weekend warrior, the fact that all 3 pairs broke down at the toe box after only a few hikes was very disappointing. I exchanged the first two pairs (kudos to Keen & the outdoor stores I went to for their customer service). After the 3rd pair I decided I'd just have to find another boot. I hope this issue gets resolved because like I said I LOVED the boots, but they just broke down too quickly.

I have taken these shoes on two cold weather hikes since I received them at the beginning of October. I already own a pair of Keen Whisper Sandals and love them, so I figured I'd love these too. These boots took less breaking in than my sandals so barely any at all, which was nice. They were warm and dry, although I didn't purposefully dunk them in water they did get wet. I love the little padded area right behind the ankle, makes it easy to wear them with shorter socks. And, in case anyone else out there has this problem, they don't make my feet look huge! I am size 10 and a lot of the time outdoor shoes bear a slight resemblance to clown shoes on me. But these have a nice style and color and look like regular tennis shoes under of pair of jeans. Yay! The only reason I didn't give that 5th star is that they are a bit wider than I need them (but cinching the laces a little extra tight solves this) and I haven't fully submerged them yet.
