Great for walking and hiking in winter as well as the rest of the year. Third pair for me. Have liked other accent colors a bit better. Glad to find them in my size 5.5

    Comfortable but not waterproof

    3

Super comfortable for my hikes, except they are not waterproof. They are more water repellent than the Terradoras they are replacing, but after walking through tall wet grass, the water still permeates. The Terradoras were more like sponges, soaking up dew and never drying out, and these are better than that. Keen customer service was great at letting me replace the Terradoras. Bottom line, they are really comfortable, but not waterproof.

I have had several Targhees throughout the years for SAR and hiking. Always have been wide enough. This pair is a little more narrow, but thankfully I can still wear them👍🙂

    The best of the best!

I've always been a fan of Keen hiking shoes, but wished they had a little more cushioning and support. Well, my wishes came true with the Targhee EXP! Super support and cushioning and they keep my feet from hurting by the end of the day. Totally waterproof which is a very important for hiking, as well as work around the farm. The Mid height is perfect for stability and keeps me from rolling my ankle on uneven terrain. Absolutely love these and I HIGHLY recommend them!

    Great shoe, even better company

So far I am really impressed with the quality and comfort of this shoe. They are a little bulky, as you would expect with hiking shoes, but fairly light and don't restrict my ankle movement too much. The colors are nice too. I previously had purchased a pair that was no as durable and these look like they will withstand a lot more wear and tear for the amount of hiking I intend to do. I am really impressed with the Keen brand and their commitment to their products.

    Great Boot

    5

Unfortunately I had a pair of Targee II that developed a leak after 6 moths. They were great boots and I called Keen about my issue. Their Customer Service was fast and efficient and I had a credit within hours. When I went to their website to reorder I found three Targee products. I again called and they recommended the new Targee EXP which works well in wet and warm North Carolina. I had my new boots within two days of my initial call. I have worn them four times and they are exceptional. I am 76 years old and have been hiking all my life. So far I believe these are the most comfortable and stable boot of all the brands I have worn.

    My Favorite Keens

After going through a purchase or two and returning the boots (GREAT customer service department), I finally settled on these Targhees. I am very hard on my footwear and have high arches, bunions, knee issues, etc. and good supportive footwear with a wide enough toe box and room for my arch inserts is a must. The Targhee checks all of those boxes for me. I use these for both athletic hiking and work around the farm and have found they offer great support for my ankles without being heavy or too bulky and impairing movement. They are as functional as I climb a ladder as they are while doing my morning walk with my dogs or while exercising my horses. I ordered 1/2 size larger than my normal size and like the roominess in the toe box and find that size is good for me even with thinner socks. The waterproofing is working so far and my feet stay dry despite tromping through wet areas and the morning dew in the long grass on our property. I do think Keen, in general, needs to solve their 'tongue' issues, which aren't much of a problem in this boot, but I will sometimes have to re-adjust the tongue or tighten the bootstrings up a bit. The tongue is soft and comfortable on the bottom though, which makes it a much more comfortable choice than the Pyrenees which I found to be unwearable due to a rough protrusion on the underside of the tongue. The Targhee is a much better boot for my needs and I am sure I will be ordering again. VERY happy with my purchase.

    Great Performance, Great Looks

Wore these boots out of the box on an 8 mile hike through rocky/mountainous terrain in Norway. The trail was very rocky, with lots of areas of puddles and mud and these boots held up. Water resistance was great - could trudge through everything within reason and not worry about wet feet! Put these things through the ringer on the first wear and I am impressed. The ankle support was nice too. Just enough to help with the constant terrain change, but not too much where mobility felt too restricted. My feet were still a bit achy afterwards but I think that was just due to 8 miles on rocks in general, not the boots. I imagine that terrain in my old boots would've resulted in blisters and even worse pain. The gray with pink laces is also a nice color combo - the boots are still definitely clunky, but look cuter/more stylish than some hiking boots I've had in the past.
