These are the best boots! I wear them to do trail work and hiking in them is totally fine! Even though they're steel toe. Sometimes I hike in them when I'm not doing saw work just because they're that comfortable. Very rare to find comfortable functional women's steel toes. Keen may be the only company to do this. I love that they don't have a heel as I trip all over those. These are awesomely comfortable and not too heavy. AND THEY COME IN WIDE!!! seriously, keen, please don't ever stop making these! The only downside is that I wish they were taller because it's better for chainsaw safety, but instead I just have extra long chaps. I'm tempted to buy another pair just in case they stop making these boots. Love them ❤️.

I went out of my way to find these boots because I already had Keen hiking boots and loved them. At the outset, I loved these boots. Apart from being heavier, the fit wasn't any different than my hikers and I had zero break-in time. They were comfortable right from the start.

The trouble is, after six months of wear doing archaeological survey, the steel toes have become so painful to wear that I simply can't endure a day in them anymore. They pinch and the edges of the steel portions stick out and give me blisters. I'm not sure why this is when they were plenty roomy and comfy before, and my feet haven't changed size! I do realize that a few miles of hiking per day with lots of shoveling will wear down a boot faster than ordinary walking, but I really would have expected better than six months considering that I've had my Keen hikers for six years.

    4 years with these boots

    By

    from Guatemala

Comments about KEEN Women's Detroit Mid (Steel Toe):

They were with me for 4 years, very light and comfortable. Great boots, shoe laces not so great after a year. Eyelet made out of fabric broke after two years everyday use. Wear of the sole as detached rubber might be expected.

        Tough Enough for Treeplanting

        By

Comments about KEEN Women's Detroit Mid (Steel Toe):

I bought these boots to use for a summer of treeplanting in Ontario. I was super happy with this purchase and the performance of the boots! They were mostly waterproof until I would have to go through swamps and the water would get inside my shoe, but that's typical of a treeplanter's day. They were broken in within the first day, and remained comfortable throughout the season. Most treeplanters have to get new boots every season, but mine could definitely last another beating!

Thanks, Keen for making durable and comfortable work boots!

        Best Steel Toe Boots

Comments about KEEN Women's Detroit Mid (Steel Toe):

I work in the tissue industry where on 12 hour shifts. These boots are comfortable and lightweight. Has the right amount of cushion and arch. The metatomical footbed is amazing for about three months, then wears out. The only reason I did not rate five stars is because of the footbed timing. I've tried other insoles and they do not compare. Wish we could purchase the insoles separately. I have purchased another pair and will continue to wear them.
