  • Too narrow

First of all, I don't want to rate this with stars at all, but there is no option to bypass that rating. If the shoe fits, it's probably a 5-star shoe. If it doesn't, it's only a 1-star shoe. I'm only writing this to give feedback about fit. Personally, the shoes don't fit. It seems to me that Keens are getting narrower and narrower, and they don't fit me well anymore. Perhaps the wide sizes would, but they don't offer wide for styles that currently interest me. When I need to buy a safety toe, or a boot, I'll check back. The shoes themselves look good, and appear to be very well made which isn't a surprise; I've always had my Keens last a long time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if the fit works for them.

Most comfortable casual boot! Home run!

    5

I've tried several casual boots for work with no success. I'm on my feet most of the day in school transportation and security also fighting a bad case of plantar fasciitis. These I boots are by far the most comfortable I have worn. They keep out the Ohio slush and snow while also keeping my feet warm. I liked them so mush I bought a second pair on sale in the other color. The other reviews are correct in that they do fit more narrow than other Keen boots. No problem for me as I usually wear a 13 narrow. Also keep in mind these are casual boots not really for outdoor excursions/hiking. They look great for work, church or out for the evening.

My husband wears these casually to work on dress down days and out on date night. They look great with jeans and he says they're comfy. Fits true to size.

    Always great shoes from Keen!

I got this pair for work (office environment) for the winter months because of the insulation and waterproofing. I've gat a pair of Keens for just about everything I do but, this pair is a little different. They are narrower than I'm used to Keen being so order 1/2 larger and they are flatter so don't expect that new pillow feeling. I'm really happy with them so far!

    Not what I expected...

    3

These arrived yesterday, and I was excited to unwrap! On unboxing the Winterhaven I immediately noticed the weight of the boot. These feel substantially lighter than any of my other Keen boots (Targhee, Austin, etc). On feel, the leather feels cheaper (harder, and more plastic feeling) than other Keen products, but the actual quality is yet to be determined (I will attempt to update this post if possible as I have broken them in and worn them for a period). Once unboxed, I quickly pulled the packaging paper from each boot and promptly place them on my feet. These feel wholly different than any Keen boot, shoe, or sandal that I have ever owned. I have owned well over 30 pairs of Keen boot/shoes/sandals. Initial impression was that the shoe is narrower than most Keens, and seems to run a bit long (I am a size 11 and they feel 1/2 size longer than others of same size). The most surprising fit was the width. I have a fairly wide foot, but not wide enough to justify wide width shoes. Keens normally fit my foot well and are plenty generous in width. These feel substantially narrower. Today is the first wearing. They look great with a pair of jeans in the Midwest in December. However, they are not immediately as comfortable as other Keen boots i have owned. The foot bed/insole feels flatter, and the arch support is smaller and sits further back on the foot. First impression is that the arch support hits my foot in the wrong spot, but time will tell. The Winterhaven is insulated, but I guess I expected more. It is ~35 degrees outside, and if I am honest, my feet don't feel any warmer today than with the worn out pair of Austins I had on yesterday. The sole/tread is very nondescript unlike most Keens My first 24 hour impression of the Winterhaven... It is a great looking boot/shoe. The fit is different than expected, and time will tell if that is a negative or not. I look forward to wearing these in/out!

Love it, got it in two colors

My husband had been searching for a winter boot that is not too clunky/large. This fits the bill perfectly, as it looks pretty much like a shoe but is warm, stylish and functional. We live in Minnesota where it can be really cold but his foot remains warm in these shoes. This is a great boot for city living in the winter, it can go outside to shovel snow but then also be worn out with friends at a brewery without screaming "giant winter boot!!". They fit true to size and wear-in quickly and painlessly. Good traction on the bottom. Ordered them in two different colors and a friend admired them so much he bought the same pair.

    I got these for free

and if someone gave me another free pair Id say 'no thanks' these are for winter right? well the traction in snow/ice SUCKS and is not confidence inspiring winter is cold right? well these things are warm down to about 20 and the -4 rating on the liner is a joke supposed to be waterproof right? after 6 months my feet get soggy from walking around town in a few inches of snow, havent dared to go near anything actually wet or puddle shaped

    No way wears out fast

Wore out like this in 4 months in the twin cities winter. Just pulled them out from last year. Can't believe how fast they went to garbage. Keen warranty doesn't cover wear and tear. I guess everyone should know the life expectancy is short if you wear them everyday for just one winter.

    Perfect...for me

Fit well and very comfortable. Quickly became my favorite boots, and although they are called boots they are unlike many boots I have. They are not heavy, bulky and don't have a deep tread, yet waterproof. For me they are simply perfect.
