I have had many different hiking shoes/boots in my time in scouting. I have also had many different winter boots. My summit tocountry boots are as it stands right now are the best. We just had our first snow of the season and it was wet and heavy. I was outside for 6 to 8 hours clearing snow and ice. When i went in my feet were comfortable and dry. I was wearing smart wool hiker medium weight hiker socks. What a combo. I'm on staff for our OKPIK training course and I am looking forward to our winter adventures. Thanks for a great boot.

Just to reiterate what others have said; Very warm Very comfortable The tongue is a little weird and over padded at the top but not a deal breaker They are surprisingly light weight and not nearly as clunky to wear around as similarly warm boots from other manufacturers They are very roomy and run a little large. I am a 12.5 with a medium width and the 12 is perfect in length and a little bit wide for me but I'll take it!

Used for work in a snow storm. Very warm and comfortable. Keen is the one of the few brands I buy.

So comfortable but still a Serious boot!

It is a little wide, but that is perfect for me every show is always just a bit too narrow. This one is perfect!! It is warm and waterproof and I can showshoe longer because of comfort. I have not and a cold foot yet. I use these in northern Michigan and even into Ontario for showshoe adventureing.(-10 to -50 degrees) I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants a sturdy warm boot for the winter. If you have narrower feet or on an edge size order a half size down.

Comfortable fit, lightweight and warm. Good ankle support. First timeout I walked 6 miles in the woods looking for grouse with my dog. No issues.

Does the $200.00 boot have the same tongue

    3

The tongue does not have a web to keep the snow out. Pretty much worthless to have a tall boot that leaks. You may as well get the low top hiking boots.

These boots I ordered were my 3rd set. This set is slightly different that my previous 2 sets of Summit County boots. It seems that there is more padding around the boot above the ankle area. They also seem to be slightly warmer than my previous 2 sets. They fit great as I had expected, but it will require a bit more getting used to the extra padding and warmth. I wear mine all year round as they are the most comfortable boots I have ever had. I wish I could have a summer variety without the 400 grams of insulation with the same fit as my first 2 pair. I would be in heaven. I had to order online this time as it was impossible to find keen boots of this type locally. I also noticed while responding with this comment that the boot is no longer listed as a choice on your website. I guess maybe it now is discontinued. That would be disappointing for me. I usually wear these until they are breaking at the seams, which my 2nd pair is now. I am still having trouble giving those up. These new boots probably will be great after break in, but the 2nd pair fit just right. Thanks for such a good product. My feet love ya for it.

Wore these boots hiking around Michigan's Upper Peninsula in snow for the month of January. They were comfortable and kept my feet warm and dry. Hopefully they will hold up well.
