For ten hours per day, five days per week , I work as an electrician in a plant on concrete floors and steel catwalks, some outdoors in wet mud and rough mining terrain. I was accustomed to wearing the finest Wolverines until they dropped the model I had worn for 14 years. Knowing the Keen was a premier hiking shoe, I tried a pair of these on in a brick and mortar shoebox store. I promptly went home and ordered a pair off the internet. These are THE most comfortable shoes I have ever worn without having to break them in. I wear a wide width and these have plenty of room. They offer excellent support. I literally wore them every day, even on my off days, for six straight months. They are not completely water proof but are fairly water resistant. The negative thing is the boot tread is already worn out and coming apart. I will need another work boot soon and haven't found anything close to the comfort I've had with this pair. Even with the negatives, I like happy feet.
