The Pittsburgh is Keen's attempt to adapt the ergonomics, comfort & cushioning of an athletic shoe with the durability of a tough work boot, i.e. EVA & rubber outsole. Although, the Pittsburgh doesn't excel on all fronts, namely durability. Usually, there is a trade-off between comfort & durability. Either a boot is ergonomic & comfortable but disintegrates in less than a year or vice versa. In my case the leather upper seperated from the sole in less than a year of wear. This was very disconcerting knowing full well how much I paid for them. But, have no fear, a modification is here! I ended up taking my boots to a local cobbler. He stitched the rubber sole back to the leather upper from the toe/forefoot to the rear of the midsole/front of the heel, on both boots with waxed string. If Keen would just do these two things: 1. Stitch up the seam between the upper & sole as much as possible all the way around the boot & 2. Experiment with the rubber outsole compound, maybe make it more durable or stiffer, most of the durability problems would be rectified. But, again we run into the ergonomic vs. durable argument & trade-offs...In total, The Pittsburgh is the best & most comfortable boot I have owned...the inner lining material is Heaven! Finally, if I were to go to The Moon, it would be with a Pittsburgh variant! Now, please change the next iteration of Pittsburgh to at least include the stitching caveat to be issued out. Thanks

    Longevity seams to be lacking.

They r great shoes and very comfortable once you break them in but the quality seam to not match the comfortable. I've had three pair of Keen's over the last year and I can't seam to get more than about six months out of a pair. I bought these and wore them for a day just driving to Washington and the toe is already separating. I might half to go looking at other shoes because I can't afford to spend 150-180$ on shoes every six months.
