    Best winter boots ever!

Comments about Men's Durand Polar Waterproof Boot:

These boots are amazing. We live in Northern Michigan where winters are really tough. They are comfortable and most of all, really warm for working or hikes. They do run a bit small so I ordered a half size up which made them a perfect fit. Nicest winter boots I've ever owned.

Have only tried them on but they fit true to size. They fit my feet like a glove. Looking forward to wearing them when we get enough snow.

Comments about Men's Durand Polar Waterproof Boot:

I really like the boots, they run more like 1 full size small compared to my other keen boots. I recommend keen boots and a good boot dryer to anyone that's asked about my boots.

    Dissapointed, not warm enough

    from Down East Maine

Comments about KEEN Men's Durand Polar Waterproof Boot:

I'm a forester for a small land management and logging company out of Down East Maine that requires me to be outside working from 10-14 hours per day. Winter weather here ranges from -20 to 30 with the occasional winter thaw, a snow-pack of 6"- 30" and sometimes rain and muddy weather. Wind is almost always a constant on the coast. On average I find myself walking between 25 and 40 miles a week over varied terrain that includes dense, spruce/fir forests, forested swamps and peatlands, coastal rocky beaches, ledges and steep hills, and blueberry barrens, walking logging trails with deep slash. Outside of work, I'm hiking, snowshoeing, icefishing and snowmobiling. I'm not a fan of traditional winter pac boots as I find them heavy and cumbersome in the woods and have been looking for more of a insulated hiking boot. I use Keens for my summer work/hiking boot and have been very impressed with them so I thought I'd give these boots a try, especially where they're rated for -40 with moderate to heavy activity. Unfortunately they have not lived up to my expectations in the slightest. I received these boots the first week of December and the first couple of days when temps were hovering right around freezing, they worked perfectly, keeping my feet warm and dry with light-weight wool socks. After four days, the boot laces snapped and I noticed heavy moisture in the toe of the boots that didn't seem to want to dissipate. I replaced the laces with paracord and started leaving the boots on a boot dryer at night. As temps dropped down into the 20s and teens the next couple of weeks I found my feet getting cold within 3-4 hours of walking the woods, even with heavier wool socks, and snowmelt seemed to seep through the toes. Since Christmas, we've seen temps holding steady between -8 and 10 with windchills approaching -35. I wore these boots for all of an hour last week before being forced to return to my truck and swap them out for a much heavier, warmer pair.
