I just want to start out by saying your work boots are the best I've ever had. I'm on my 4th pair in 5 years, and for the environment I work in, that is a very LONG time. I'm from Minnesota which is the home to Redwing Shoes and they are supposed to be some of the best out there. I don't agree. I've had 1 pair from them and they barely lasted 4 months. The way your work boots are put together is very impressive. The soles are what eventually wear out first and that takes a year. And the waterproofing done on them is terrific. I've never had to reapply any type of sealant to them. It's great to be able to stand in a few inches of watery slush that we get up in Minnesota. I've never had wet feet while wearing these boots. Every aspect of their development has been taken into consideration, even the laces. It may sound silly, but I've never had to re-tie or double knot the laces. They always stay where they are supposed to be. Thank you so much for making such a wonderful product. You've definitely made me a customer for life.

This is my first pair of Keen work boots and I was pretty impressed for the first couple months. It is an extremely comfortable steel toe for my feet, which are usually difficult to find a comfortable steel toe for. They are well built and rugged. That being said, the shoe laces broke in the first few weeks and after 4 months the eyelets (for the laces) ripped and made them unable to be worn. I was concerned about the fabric eyelets when I bought the boots, but I figured for the price they must be reinforced somehow. I was wrong. All that aside, when I submitted my claim to Keen, they were very prompt in looking at my shoe and replacing it without hassle. I can't wait to try my new pair of boots.

    Great boots but....

Comments about KEEN Men's Detroit Mid (Steel Toe):

I am a Union Pipe Fitter/Welder and have had nothing but KEENS on my feet for the last 7 years on job sites. I am now on my second pair of Detroit's and I consider them a great boot but they are not for welders. The webbing does not last under a constant barrage of welding sparks.

Comments about KEEN Men's Detroit Mid (Steel Toe):

These shoes do not last. The sole comes apart. I had a pair for three months and they started doing it. I have always heard good things about these shoes and so I figured it was a fluke. They warrantied them. The next pair did the same thing and they won't warranty another pair. I'm disappointed because they are comfortable shoes but they suck when it comes to durability. My job is not even that hard on them. I will not buy another pair of keen shoes.

Comments about KEEN Men's Detroit Mid (Steel Toe):

Bought these boots at a great price on clearance to replace my hikers since I will now be needing something with toe protection and arch support for construction sites, when I tried them on they felt good, however breaking them in at home they felt unsupportive, since they were on clearance I couldn't return them to store. Since I was stuck with them I tried them in a non-construction environment for 8+ hours I couldn't imagine my feet holding up in a real construction site, so I purchased the Keen inserts for added support but they made no difference. I still feel my feet tired and sore halfway thru the day. Looks like the great price wasn't so great since they will end up collecting dust in the closet, which is a shame since I have tried other Keen boots and felt more comfortable. I applaud Keen for being different from other work boot makers and trying to cater to a group of people who need boots with extra support, unfortunately the Detroit mid steel toe did not work for me.

          Great Product

Comments about KEEN Men's Detroit Mid (Steel Toe):

I would definitely recommend this boot to anyone who has issues finding boots that aren't wide enough. I sell quite a bit of these boots off my truck and I also have a pair. People find them extremely comfortable right away (very little break in time compared to other work boots). Like most products Keens aren't for everyone, but I would absolutely recommend everyone at least try them once.
