    Size runs big

Comments about Men's Detroit Low (Steel Toe):

The size runs big and the shoe laces are way to long. I was in desperate need of new work shoes and the Braddock was out of stock. Not wanting to leave my beloved Keen brand, I could only surmise the Detroit style to ba a comparable substitute. Kate in customer service was very helpfull and I do appreciate her. She did all she could do. Yet I'm not I love with the fit and laces are a problem. I guess they will do until the Braddock shows up.

    I would buy Keens AGAIN!!

    By

Comments about Men's Detroit Low (Steel Toe):

I talked with Alex in customer service on June 23. He was VERY helpful and VERY knowledgeable about the Keen products. I needed to get some shoes for work ASAP so I asked him what shoe would be great for me and he suggested the Detroit low steel toe because they are the widest shoe out of the Keen products. Bummer they did not have my size in stock here on the site, so I found my size on Amazon got them ordered and started wearing them this week, one GREAT feeling work shoe. Yes I will buy again once these wear out! Best steel toe shoe feel EVER!! I recommend buying these shoes! PS Give Alex a raise!!!

Good shoe for max 6 month

    By

    from Kirkland WA

I purchased this boots for my job (aerospace facility). Worked so good for the first few months, than it started to deteriorate. Bottom of shoe like soft rubber, came apart and shown after 6 month significant wear.. Shoe laces both side came apart and broken.
Inside yellow cushion came apart. Average 12k-15k steps a day, 5 days in a week.

I would NOT recommend this shoe as working shoe to anyone.

Easily the best shoes I've ever worn. I work in a fiberglass composite manufacturing facility. The glass dulls steel tools immediately, but a solid year plus of supporting boards with my feet for inspection didn't phase these shoes. 10-12 hour days on concrete floors, no problem. Tool lube, chemical solvents, nada. I once had a 40 lb. diamond coated sanding drum dropped on my toe...I barely noticed...hardly even a scuff...and they still look professional and stylish for meetings and client meet and greets. So comfortable I forget to take them off at home. Will be buying my 3rd pair, after 3 years that the last two survived...eventually they stretch out enough that they feel "floppy" but otherwise both old pairs remain sound and are still used for dirty jobs around the house. Well worth the price.

    Fantastic

I have very wide feet and I've had problems finding acceptable footwear my entire life. The sneaker industry has done a good job over the last 10 year offering a larger variety of wide shoe sizes but the traditional hiking and work shoe manufacturers have not. I was excited to find out that Keen shoes produce some styles in wide sizes. I purchased the steel toe Detroit low about 3 year ago and they are honestly the best shoes I've ever worn. I have put them through the ringer with an ungodly amount of miles in working and hiking environments and they have been exceptional.

I have been trying different work boots/shoes for the last 18 years. Got a pair of Detroit Low. Right off the bat these made an impression. I wear a WIDE. The steel toe is by far the best shaped one i have ever had. True that the insole are not the cushion variety but there is plenty of room to add your own. I will definitely repeat buy next year. Thank you KEEN ! only took a week to break them in !

The best shoes I've ever had

    By

They took about a week to break in, but once they did, they were the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. The cushioning wasn't overblown so I retained tactile feedback from my feet with them. This is important when walking on precarious things like my construction job occasionally demands. The best way I can describe the feel was like wearing broken-in baseball gloves on my feet. It was fantastic!

I did have to replace the insole around 12 months in, but I got nearly two years out of the shoes before they no longer kept my feet dry when walking on wet ground or pavement.

My replacement pair just came today. I transferred my old insoles into the new shoes to use until they wear out. With each pair of shoes, Keen should provide one pair of replacement insoles, either in the box or by mail when requested.

I was also disappointed that this new pair did not include a second set of laces like my previous pair. My old laces were tied back together in two spots.
