These boots are IT. Stop... I can't call them boots because every boot I have ever worn has sucked compared to my weekend shoes. Especially considering that these are also not a soft toe. I have bought steel toe boots and shoes and have never kept them because my foot feels like it's in a toe corset. You may be into that, but it doesn't turn me on. Starting from the bottom, the soles don't have deep grooves in them hold enough mud to build a hut. The reason for the shallow grooves is because the shoes dissipate static electricity which is awesome if you hate having static cling shirts, and sucks if you like to drag your feet across the carpet and zap your boss on the ear with a static bomb. They are also oil and slip resistant which I don't think I have needed yet, but maybe that's because I didn't slip because of them and I just never knew it. The laces are smart because I have to pull my shoes off and on a dozen times a day and it sucks having to tie my shoes (because my feet are a lot further away then when I was young) that much. They're easy on, easy off without them feeling sloppy when I'm just walking straight.
The toe is aluminum which means I can melt them down someday and get some of my money back, but it also means that it will keep my little piggies together as a family unit but not have the excessive weight of steel toes. Don't get me wrong these shoes are hefty and substantial (like my other ex-wife). What's the downside of these shoes? The color choices aren't great in my mind. I think they're almost punitive colors for the decerning man that wants to wear safety shoes with it being like the pocket protector of shoewear. The shoes have a reflective border. "Reflective" does not convey the magnitude of reflectiveness. If alien life in a galaxy thousands of light years away finds our little planet... I'm guessing this shoe will be why. So it's a comfortable & safe shoe that needs a facelift. They don't' give us enough letters in this review t

    I did like this shoe.

Just letting you know that the bottom of both shoes split"cracked"I'm really surprised for being a Keen product and they are 6 or 6.5 months old.

Comments about KEEN Men's ASHEVILLE AT ESD (Aluminum Toe):

Ok holy moly these are indisputably the most comfortable metal toed work shoes/ boots I ever did have the pleasure of wearin in the 13 years been workin...

Like they are so darn easy to put on and comfortable they are even more comfortable then my sneakers! I was outta work for three months so I worked on my home for the period. I wore these from sun up to sun down without anyone mandating I wear them. That's a first for me. Normally my metal toes come off when I get home. Not these. Breathed good, also the lace system rules. You could almost go running in them. ( I never did)

Problem is.....i got them Aug 30th and by December sole was pulling away from the right toe box....not the end of the world....but I was veeeery surprised. (I'm wearing 6 year old keen boots that are still nice as write this. They never were truly waterproof like advertised though)

But also the sole has nice fat cracks all along the flex point on your front balls.

It's still very useable....but it's a disaster when wet. It sucks water up into your socks like immediately!

But keen honored the warranty wicked easy with some photos and my receipt so I got no complaints. I was IMPRESSED!

I love the shoe sooooo much id try it again....but another reviewer had the SAME problem. So I can't afford to trust it. (Both of my soles cracked btw)

But I loooooooved the shoe. Still a keen wearer for life as of the last 6 years.

Comments about Men's ASHEVILLE AT ESD (Aluminum Toe):

I use these shoes for my job as a maintenance man in a commercial building. I walk approximately 7 miles a day on concrete and I love that these shoes have a thick sole to absorb the daily pounding that my feet take. Because these are offered in a wide size, I was able to purchase an "exact fit" shoe that is comfortable to wear. I also like the "quick lacking" system and the lite weight steel toe. The only thing I would change is an insole with more cushion.

I struggle to find good work shoes that fit, but these are great! Protective toe in wide that is actually wide enough...

Comments about KEEN Men's ASHEVILLE AT ESD (Aluminum Toe):

Not as open at the toe as my last pair of Keens.Nice and light weight. Not as much padding for walking on concrete floor.
