This is my fourth pair of keen shoes, the previous three pairs being Targee II. All of the previous pairs have been comfortable from day one, have needed no 'breaking in' and have done in excess of 2,000 miles without being worn out. I am having difficulty in 'breaking in' the Targee III and, in particular, find that they rub under my lateral malleolus (ankle bone). They appear to cut in exactly the same way as the IIs but of stiffer material. I will persist with them and I am sure that they will bed in over a period of time but it does beg the question'if it ain't broke-why change it?' Perhaps I'm just getting too old!!
