Excellent shoes for cyce touring and commuting

I've been wearing these shoes during a 3 and a half month tour in Italy, Germany and Austria - wearing the shoes all day on most days. I take a size 43 (UK 8.5) and bought that size and the sizing seems fine to me. For previous similar tours I've use MTB shoes. I use them with SPD cleats and that has been fine (although I use Specialized footbeds rather than the inner soles that came with the shoes). I was a bit sceptical about the drawcord but this works fine too. The soles are reasonably grippy and I've had no problems walking in them (although for longer walks I prefer the Keen Clearwater sandals). Durability seems good: I'm expecting to get at least one more long tour from them if not two. I've previously used MTB shoes. These seem to dry more quickly and even when they are wet they don't feel soggy. The shoes aren't as cool as I had hoped they would be (cool as in not sweaty), but still not as sweaty as shoes. I wish the uppers were more like the Clearwater CX.

    Why just men?!

Why on earth do you only make these for men?! I am so disappointed!

Love my Keens for everything, including biking

I started out with another highly recommended brand of cycling shoe but had to go up a full size to get the width I needed. Big mistake. I live in my Keens of all different styles and was very happy to see that you made a cycling shoe as well. I read the other reviews saying these are too narrow etc but they fit me like a glove. They are even comfortable walking etc which is not something I can say for some of the other bike shoes out there. I will be looking to get more of these in the future.

Great on the bike, minor problem walking.

First, I'm a size eleven, and 10 1/2 in these shoes was too small. I like these shoes. they are much more supportive than regular Keen sandals. It's also helpful that they come with "normal" laces rather than bungee laces like the their standard sandals. This allows you to cinch them up nice and tight. I ride pretty hard on my commuter/hybrid and these shoes perform just fine. One problem, and it's potentially a large one, is that I can feel the cleat scraping the ground slightly when walking around. It would definitely leave a mark on someone's wood floors, so I am sensitive to where I take these. Short term I can adjust my stride to avoid the scrape, but it's kind of silly that I would have to do this.
