  • Fit Tip: This style is running a 1/2 size small. We suggest ordering a 1/2 size larger than your usual size! Size Guide
Please choose a size! Please choose an inseam!

This waterproof hiking boot keeps your feet dry and lets them breathe, and the aggressive outsole bites into the terrain. It's built for all-day comfort, and the mid-cut height adds ankle support.

  • Cleansport NXT™ for natural odor control
  • 4mm multi directional lugs
  • Contoured heel lock
  • KEEN.Dry waterproof breathable membrane
  • Torsion stability ESS shank
  • Waterproof nubuck leather upper

We've carefully selected leather uppers designed to last. Then again, if you're wearing your KEENs daily, they won't always be scuff and dirt-free. To treat day to day wear and tear, especially on lighter color leathers, we recommend using a leather cleaner and conditioner, found at most footwear dealers and/or shoe repair shops.

ENVIRONMENTALLY PREFERRED LEATHER

Tanning leather is a dirty process. That’s why we source our hides from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries that use processes to reduce chemical use and the impact on our watersheds.

ECO ANTI-ODOUR

We’ve turned to nature to eliminate pesticides and biocides from going into the environment. Our insoles are infused with probiotic technology that naturally breaks down odour in sweat without heavy metals or hazardous chemicals.

PFC-FREE WATER REPELLENCY

Perfluorinated Chemicals (PFCs) are commonly used to repel water on outdoor gear. But these compounds are suspected carcinogens and persist in the environment, so we’ve switched to alternative chemistry that’s safe yet still effective.

Four-wheel-drive performance for your feet.

  • Poor quality

    1

My first pair lasted about 6 months before the sole/treads started to detach and the inner sole/last underneath it warped and waved making a large bump under the ball of my foot. I was thrilled that Keen replaced them and I was a happy hiker until the 2nd pair did exactly the same thing. Although Ive owned the 2nd pair for almost 18 months Ive not worn this 2nd pair much because I have another pair of boots (different model) I use alternately. Its sad to see such poor quality and these boots were quite comfy. Ive never had a pair of hikers fall apart like this. Now Keen is not wanting to replace the 2nd pair because their policy is to not cover shoes they've replaced on warranty....say what?! I belong to a hiking club and will not be recommending these boots to my hiking buddies. In fact Im hesitant to buy anything else made by Keen. Sad.

Targhee II's are nice boots, but the arch seems to be off (not placed directly under the natural arch) with the II's, so they aren't as comfortable for me. And a word of warning about the Raven/opaline colour... it REALLY smells bad, and the odour hasn't disappeared after owning them (and keeping them in the box unworn) in all this time. I did buy them in another colour, and they were fine - just not quite the same really good fit as the I's.

    Good for work and play

This is my go-to boot. I wear it to work as often as I can get away with it because it's so comfortable and provides plenty of support in case of "surprise" field days. These boots provide good support for the kind of light labor any "office monkey" with high maintenance feet might do (moving computers or furniture around, crouching in awkward places to fuss with cables, packing equipment in vehicles, etc.). I can stand in these boots for a long time and hike for even longer. They don't feel suffocating or tight if I wear them in the heat outside or in the office all day; there is room for a foot to swell but they fit snugly. They have good traction on steep, gravelly surfaces and stay pretty dry through shallow puddles. I've owned the boots for 1 year, worn them probably 150 days/800 miles, and they are in excellent condition. I rated these 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to modify the heels with low friction tape to avoid blisters during long (>8 mile) hikes; however, there was no break-in period required. If I could request one aesthetic favor of Keen it would be to offer this style in all brown and all black without the cute accent colors; these are GREAT work shoes but slightly out of compliance with a lot of uniform codes. Foot size: 8 (keen, chaco, vasque, puma, reef) to 8.5 (saucony, nike) Foot shape: slim but prone to swelling; toes need lots of room no thanks to bunions Environment: hot, rocky, mountainous desert; lots of scree, gravel, limestone, and slippery clay mud Uses: hiking, yard work, light indoor labor, outdoor work, general travel/running through airports

    Untimely demise.

These boots have been everywhere with me, always incredibly comfortable and fantastic year round on a variety of terrains. My 3rd and now 4th pair too, have fallen victim to the same demise - a portion of the outsole became detached, simply dangling at the mid point of the sole - quite the detriment when hiking. My 3rd pair lasted over a year before meeting its fate, yet this 4th pair has come apart in less than 6 months. For a shoe I was once an ambassador for, sadly I believe the quality has gone down hill.

I bought a pair of these almost 7 years ago, went through three pairs of laces, and only just retired the boots this year. These boots are GREAT and I will buy a second pair as soon as spring hits. They are true 3 season beasts with excellent grip and traction, they are incredibly comfortable and break in time is very quick. I wore them from april till mid november and they've seen hundreds of miles, water and mud. Just wipe them off and do a routine leather clean and they will last you a long time. A really great investment. Order a half size up, as they do run a tad small. I usually wear 9, but the 9,5 fit like a glove.

I use these boots 4-6 times a week working outdoors in south Florida. I bought them in October 2017 (our dry season) and they began falling apart in early May 2018 (rainy season starts in late May early June). The tread delaminated and they became a floppy mess. That being said, I work in palmettos that have shredded most other boots within a year. The delamination aside, these boots are in great shape, no holes or wear marks and the tread looks barely used. They are super comfortable right out of the box, but falling apart 8 months in is unacceptable.

I walked across Scotland in these boots. 156 km. My feet stayed dry and I didn't get one blister the whole time. Amazing.
