Love. Pure, unrestrained love. I love these things. My 'evangelism' for these things borders on obnoxious. At the beach. Light hiking (with socks). On vacation. Informal dining. With shorts. With pants. If I had a kilt, I'd wear them. Basically any time I'm not at the office, these are my go to shoes. I have a high/instep, and wide feet. These work for me. (I have Keen boots, too, and they accommodate my freakishly shaped feet.) I got latex paint on my first pair. At first, I was mad, but then I realized that I could just buy another pair for "good," and keep the old pair for working around the house. Only complaint: They proved to be inadequate protection against a sea urchin. The little devil snuck in between the side straps. I'm going white water rafting later this year. These, and a pair of flip flops are all I will take.

Not sure how to rate them. This type of sandals were the best shoes ever (had three pairs over the years) until I bought forth pair last couple of months ago. After about a week of using them they started to smell so badly I had to return them. Not sure what to do now. I suspect that this might be due to some new materials used as I never had this issue with the old versions. I might try another model in some time as I truly think that these are the best pair of sandals ever designed but please make them with the proper materials.

Still the best for wide feet!

    Comments about KEEN Men's Newport:

I suffer a bit from flat feet, plantar fasciitis, feet that smell and, consequently, the shoes they inhabit. No more once I discovered Keen Newports. I wear these with gray cotton socks 365.25 days a year and both my shoes and my socks smell great...well, not bad at least. I've read the reviews of people who've recently bought Newports complaining of the smell,, but I have not found this myself. Maybe it's new materials and certain body chemistry? I love these shoes and can wax so evangelistic about them that people around me get up to change their seats. I've tried other Keens and found that the stitching came loose on certain models on the elastic strap that encircles the ankles. Not on these - their leather/pleather sides are one piece with a backing and they don't seem to ever separate. God, I love these shoes. I'm an elementary school teacher and up on my feel all day - I wouldn't wear any other shoe.

    Comments about KEEN Men's Newport:

These have survived hiking 2 mountains, spelunking through a cave system and many trails in Canada and backpacking in Europe. Superior comfort, fitting, and durability in various environments. They have survived all that for 6 years and hoping they get to tread for many more years.

My wife was right-I was wrong (again)

    Comments about KEEN Men's Newport:

My wife has been wearing Keen shoes for 5+ years and for 5+ years she has been telling (hounding) me to get a pair. I had looked at and felt her shoes and told her that i thought there was no way these could be comfortable-heavy sole, straps instead of a solid body etc. My feet have taken a beating from my cheapo tennis shoes and I finally said "All right! I'll try them but I'll probably send them back. Wrong! These are the best shoes I've ever worn. I'm retired and I doubt I'll ever wear anything else.
