ECO ANTI-ODOUR

We’ve turned to nature to eliminate pesticides and biocides from going into the environment. Our insoles are infused with probiotic technology that naturally breaks down odour in sweat without heavy metals or hazardous chemicals.

PFC-FREE WATER REPELLENCY

Perfluorinated Chemicals (PFCs) are commonly used to repel water on outdoor gear. But these compounds are suspected carcinogens and persist in the environment, so we’ve switched to alternative chemistry that’s safe yet still effective.

I have gone through three pairs of these in the last 8 years or so, primarily using them as water shoes/sandals for canoeing and kayaking, as well as around town and at the beach in town. Initially they are good - I like the grip from the sipes and the toe caps for protection against rocks, but they have all fallen apart at the seams in the back heel part in less than 2 years - too quickly in my opinion. I know of several other fellow paddlers that have had the same issue with these as well. The design needs some reinforcement in this area. They are also a heavier than I would like, and take a long time to dry due to heavy webbing. As well, pebbles and sticks get in under my feet while walking in the water and I have to completely remove them to get the pebbles out. There are better options of you are looking for paddling sandals. I won't be purchasing a fourth pair of these.

Never buying a Keen product again

    1

Extreme stitching failure after two months of light wear. As somebody who formerly bought a pair of Keen boots each year for work, I will no longer be doing that. I'd always bought Keen for their quality but if these "premium" sandals are any indicator, their quality control has taken a huge nosedive.

The Newport H2 sandal stitching is its weak point.

    2

Purchased a pair of Newport H2 sandals about three years ago. They are great for canoeing and short portages, however they are not durable. More specifically, the side stitching at the ankles. After repeated stretching when wet, the stitching begins to fray and the strapping separates. Descent product otherwise except for the "achilles heel".

    Beautiful..fits and feels great!

Order this online and received in two days (free shipping). I ordered my exact size (10.5) and it fits great. It was little difficult to put on at first but then it became easier. I like the fit since it allows me to move and run without worrying that i will come off. Love the color.

It is mentioned under this item that order half size up and ordered 7.5. Sole size is ok but the from the back of foot strap is very tight and it will cause blisters. I think the Research and Development department should review this product. It should come with adjustable strap and this is the solution for all sizes. Your size has fixed every feet in one size. If I order size 8 then it will be too big. 7.5 didn't fit well. Problem is the strap which is very tight.

Excellent canoeing shoes, but one deficiency

    4

I have used these sandals for about 10 years as canoeing shoes, both with and without neoprene socks. They are an excellent design because they protect the feet well and have good solid soles and webbing straps. The workmanship and most of the materials are excellent too. BUT there is one big deficiency. I finally have to discard them because the stitching on the 2 panels at the sides of the ankle rips out every couple of years. The problem is that the material used in these side panels is too soft and stretches when wet, which causes the stitching to break. There are many complaints in MEC's gear review section about this problem. WHEN will Keen wake up and use a stronger, stiffer material for these side panels? I am sure that something like stiff leather would solve the problem.

    Great shoes and fantastic service!

The Newport H2 fit great and I like them even better than my last pair from last year. One of my Dane puppies ate the plastic ends off the bungie laces and I called the support hoping to order a replacement. They were very helpful and sent them to me quickly and easily.

Love all your shoes. My husband and I have 5 pairs each. I have bad knees and these are the most comfortable I have ever worn.
