I bought these shoes for a Grand Canyon hiking trip. I would say that they run slightly large. The toe cap area is a little larger than most shoes, and caused my toes to slip around on the downhill portion. These shoes are sturdy, grippy, and did not come untied. Another solid pair of keens.

    Great boots, great customer service!

Wonderful boots, we're developing a homestead from scratch in AZ & these are my daily wear boots. Keens are my favorite footwear, comfortable from the first time you try them on, with no "break-in" period! These were a replacement for my original pair I bought in November. A slight defect on the sole was allowing a tread to pull off. I contacted Keen & was immediately issued a replacement pair. Wonderful customer service! I recommend them to anyone!

    Not wide enough

I need a size 7 boot with a roomy toe box. After reading reviews and chatting with customer service I ordered these to replace my Durand mid-hikers that are almost worn out. I was very disappointed. Even with thin socks on these boots were overly snug and cut across the top of both feet. They were plenty long enough. I had also tried a half size larger with the same problems except they were way too big. I gave them 4 stars because I also didn't feel the quality matched the Durands that I had bought in 2015.

I spend a lot of time wandering off trail for work. This means all kinds of uneven terrain. the Gypsum II has been a great work boot for me. The fit is great, with a good amount of room in the toe box for my oversized digits. Love how they are wear ready out of the box, not a lot of break in time, but still solid support for my ankles walking over rubbly rocky slopes. I like them enough to get some for my spouse and child for our hiking adventures. So far, so good. No complaints from any of us. Good fitting lightweight but supportive hikers!

Used to be my favourite boot...

The previous generation of Gypsum was my go to boot. I wore it for daily forest hiking, and everyday use. Unfortunately, it seems this new generation is made on a narrower last. Significantly narrower. Hopefully this isn't a trend for the rest of Keen's lineup. Keen's 'unique' (read: wider footbed) fit was what kept me buying them. I would burn through a pair a year, and gladly fork out the money for a new pair. Sad to see the change.

    Poorly bonded soles

Got these as a birthday present and started wearing them on June 1st. By November 1st the soles at the heels had come apart on both shoes, not worn out but coming loose and slipping around. Very disappointing as they were comfortable and had plenty of room for my toes. Glued them with water proof adhesive as an emergency trail repair while hiking in Oklahoma. My third pair of Keens of probably my last.

I've been really having problems with my foot due to Morton's neuroma and lately even walking boots (previously fine) have been causing me pain. I was recommended Keen boots as being wider for the toes and so ordered 2 pairs. The other pair (Durand) were ok but these are just perfect so these are the ones I've kept. Walked 9 miles yesterday and was still feeling good at the end. I've gone up a size from my everyday shoes, half a size up from walking boots and these allowed me to add my own special insole and wear wallking socks and still not feel cramped. Wish I'd found these sooner. And I know it's not that important - but the midnight blue colour is really great!!
