When you want a Keen shoe that lets your toes, breathe, these are great. Less heel cushion than I would like, but still, a great option for many situations. Size, as marked.

    Great Sandals

I have two pair, one of each color. I use them for daily wear in the extremely hot North Carolina summer. They're very comfortable, have a little bit of cushion, decent arch support, good grip and not hot like the Newport. The leather footbed isn't as absorbent as the suede Newport footbeds, but don't get slick with sweat like the Newport H2s. I wore one pair to Jamaica for my honeymoon and used them to hike the falls, among other things. They're not water shoes per se, but did very well. I don't wear that pair much anymore because of how much they stretched out. I only have two issues with the design; First, they stretch out pretty quickly and become loose, forcing you to cinch them down more. The sole also gets VERY flexible, which could compromise trail ability, if you're walking over ground imperfections like rocks and roots. I initially attributed this to having used the first pair in the water, but the second pair is doing it as well. Second, Keen stamps their name in the heel of the footbed. You eventually don't notice it as much anymore, but it can be uncomfortable, especially at first. The name is already prominent on the heel shank and sole, I think Keen needs to remove the stamp. It's unnecessary and compromises comfort. The leather footbed on mine recently started to peel up from the cork/sponge rubber after about 5 months of daily use. I made a warranty claim and Keen customer service was fantastic. Issued me a credit, which I used to buy the Rialto H2. I got to keep the Daytona and I glued the footbed back with Gorilla glue and so far, it's held up. I'd definitely recommend the Daytona as a daily wear shoe, Keen just needs to remove that darn heel stamp.

    My second pair: amazing sandals

    5

These are like no other sandals I have had and I have been wearing sandals for many years. They fit like a glove and have great support. I love the leather and cork foot bed and the way the bungees hold my feet firmly in place while giving and flexing with every movement. These are for around town and are just perfect. My old pair are well worn but still wearable, but I love the way the new ones feel so I decided to treat myself.

    Best of all worlds

    5

I loved the cork footbed of my Birkenstocks, but found the soles wore out too quickly with my frequent hikes and walks over varied terrain. I then tried some fantastic leather Teva sandals with perfect soles, but, while super comfortable and the best walking shoe or sandal I've tried to date, the covered footbed eventually wore out with the rest of the sandal remaining otherwise pristine. I went to the shoe store to buy replacement Tevas, but saw the Keen Daytona and tried them on just for kicks. I was shocked. It's like they were made for my feet. Unlike my Birkenstocks, which require extensive break-in, the Daytonas feel perfect on first wear. Since purchasing them, I'm delighted to learn that they have a cork footed, so I'm confident they will only get more comfortable and even more secure over time. It's the best of both worlds for me: the comfort of Birkenstock's cork bed and the robustness and flexibility of Teva's soles. As a bonus, the Daytona lacing system is super flexible and adaptive. I love how I can tension them once and just slip them on thereafter. They are so convenient, I can see myself using these during plane travel. As soon as I put them on, the sandals just vanish on my feet, while providing comfort and security at stride. Time will tell how they do with longevity, but initial indicators are very good. What more can I say? I'm a convert.

    Great Sandals - beach perfect

    5

I've had these for many years now - they work well as city sandals, but really come into their own when you get to the beach. Feel confident walking over wet rocks (and even a little swimming). Last well and look good. Added bonus - with the flexibility of the cord system I can allow for my previously badly broken foot to swell up without the sandals getting too tight. Makes them great for flying in over summer.
