    Good boot, Bad laces

Comments about KEEN Men's CSA Oshawa Mid (Steel Toe):

It is a good boot but I do not like cloth lace holders. I went through 4 pairs of laces and many of the holders broke. I eventually removed them and punched holes through the leather, this has worked very well for me.
The rest of the boot held up quite well over the season (April-October) and I will most likely buy this boot again.

Comments about KEEN Men's CSA Oshawa Mid (Steel Toe):

The fit is perfect for my foot. The heel cup and arch support are always areas that need to be correct for a comfortable fit. Usually I buy new boots and have to insert an additional inner sole(s) to get the fit I'm after. These are the first boots or shoes that I have worn right out of the box in 25 years.
I'm on my feet and climbing ladders all day at work. The extra stiff, compact sole design is awesome.
To truly be comfortable, a boot should not be something you're thinking about at any point during the day. The wider fit and toe area goes without saying anything....that is why people buy keens. The price is higher than I prefer paying, but I'm hoping to get 2 years out of them for spring, summer, fall, then cycle them into my yard work shoes.
By the way. I really like the tissue divider in the box that Appears to be a print of the actual design file for the shoe.

Comments about KEEN Men's CSA Oshawa Mid (Steel Toe):

I decided to try this boot after wearing Timberland's for 2-3 years prior. I am a career paramedic in the Canadian sub-arctic where the temperature varies between the +20's and -50's Celsius. These turned out to be a great change from the Timberland boots. Don't get me wrong, the Timberland's were great but they were quite heavy and the soles froze solid within seconds at below 0 temps. Not great when your town roads are pretty much ice rinks for 8 months of the year. The Oshawa Mid's were much lighter, had a better fit around the ankle, were more comfortable overall and, the soles performed so much better in the freezing temps! They are cool enough in the summer and stand up just fine at -50. I wear ankle socks year round and had no need for winter socks in these. This past week I figured I would try going back to the Timberland's again and after one very frozen/slippery walk to work, I returned them and immediately placed an order on the Keen website. My last pair had about 3000 hours of wear time before I had to consider replacing them. Great boots!
