  • Love these boots, but....

These are by far the most comfortable work boots I have ever owned. I am on my second pair, that started sucking water after 9 months - not sure if there's an air bladder in the heel or what, but in wet weather, they started making suction sounds. I was inside on a smooth floor and enough water ended up on the floor from the heel that I slipped and almost went down. True to their word, I contacted support, and they sent me a promo code for a new pair that I just ordered on the website two minutes ago. One word of caution, the soles of these boots get very hard when the temperature dips below freezing, and they are very slippery on packed snow or the right slush. Traction aids are an absolute must if you wear these outside in the snow. My past pair and the first 9 months of these ones get 5 stars, the failure takes it down to 2, and the warranty brings it back to 5 as far as I'm concerned. The cold weather performance drops it back to a 4 - they are quite dangerous in the right conditions, if you're not ready for it. Hmmm. Maybe I have to move somewhere warmer for my boots - not a bad idea. Not very practical either though. Bob

    I'd buy again, with reservations.

I've bought my third pair of Keen Hamilton work shoes recently. But my 2nd pair, the sole is showing significant wear after only 10 months. I have filed a warranty claim. This is a good boot, but needs a more durable sole to become an excellent boot.

    Boots dont last

    2

Bought these boots in the spring 2019 and they are already falling apart. I have been buying Keen boots for 5 years now and at this price tag work boots should last a summer before showing signs of falling apart. Come on Keen this is pretty weak construction!

    I just keep buying them

I've been thru 4 pairs of these beauties, and I just can't stop going back to them. I work in the woods everyday in all weather and terrain, and trash my footwear.. These boots are my comfort zone for reliability. These boots have 3 rules: 1. Patiently break them in. The first two weeks will be a very hard adjustment, and you'll feel like you're in ski-boots, and will gripe. They will break in, and it'll be worth the wait. 2. Get good gel insoles. The stock ones are pedestrian, and don't last a month without pain, trust me. 3. Be prudent about the soles. I've run 2 warranty claims now after noticing 2 batch types of soles. If they start fraying and disintegrating after a month of daily use it's a bad batch, and the warranty department will help you out. When you get the good batch soles, they will last years.

Comfortable boot, but quality is horrible

    1

I bought these boots 7 months ago, I spend 70% of my time in the office the other 30% in the field. I had to spend 4 weeks in the field on a plant shutdown, working 12 hours a day. The sole has completely fallen apart. Little pieces of shredded rubber falling off all over the sole. Took them back to the retailer the show them, they said it was wear and tare. They tried to apply some glue on the sole to repair it, but it didn't last. I bought a pair of Keen Hudson boots 3 years ago, great boot, comfortable, still wearing them at home and camping. From what I can see the quality of there boots has gone down hill, and I not going to chance it to buy another pair.

Comfortable boot but no breathability at all and leaks

    2

I have had these boots for a little over 2 months. There probably the most comfortable boots I've worn in 15 years of plumbing but after a week I realised there is no breathability in them. My feet felt like they were on fire and they also smelled really bad after a days work to the point I was embarrassed to take them off at a clients house. Then a few weeks later after just walking in rain, not even a puddle I started getting wet feet. I looked under the shoe and found several screws in the red cushion absorber which is where the water must have been getting in. Not ideal for trade work as this cushion looks like a flaw in the boot if screws can penetrate them that easy. If the sole was solid without the cushion and they breathed better, would be a great boot but unfortunately not. Thankfully they are under warranty!

    Great boot, laces suck.

    4

I bought these boots from a local retailer of Keen footwear. They are a great boot. I have worn safety boots for the past 27 years and these are ranking amongst the top 3. I've been wearing them a couple months now and haven't had the issues others have had with the boot hooks. My issue is with the laces. They only seem to last 6-8 weeks. And replacement laces just aren't visually appealing. Yes, I know, first world problems. But I find the black/yellow laces the perfect compliment to the black boot. And even replacement laces don't seem to last any longer.

I bought Hamilton csa boots 7 months ago and it was really comfortable work boots. But now after only 7 months they are falling apart. It feels like pieces of the composite toe is braking off on the inside of the boot, so I can't wear them anymore. It is a pretty expensive boot to buy and if it lasts only 7 months I don't think I will ever buy or recommend any Keen products ever again. I have never dropped anything on the boots so there is no reason why the toe must start to brake down

    Great Boots

I have wore these boots during fall, winter and spring seasons. They are great and will buy them again. Working in a puddle of water and my feet were dry . Keen makes a great boot. Comfortable and not heavy to walk around in all day.

    Carbon toe sucks

    1

This boot was awesome when it was a steel toe. Now as a carbon toe it does not fit properly. I have tried the extra wide and also went up a half size and still not good. My toes are cramped on the sides and they get bad blisters.
