Together We Can Help: Masks for Others
After a year like this one, we are more thankful than ever for together.
With your help, we were able to support everyday heroes on the frontlines together, help communities affected by devastating West Coast wildfires together, and keep our communities safer by wearing masks together.
Giving Tuesday has been a global day of generosity since 2012, the same year we started partnering with All Hands and Hearts, and we are grateful that we were able to find another way to do good together — with them and you — this year.
For every purchase KEEN fans made at keenfootwear.com on Cyber Monday, we donated one KEEN Together mask to the All Hands and Heart COVID-19 Relief Program. Together, we were able to send 20,000 masks, which will be distributed to families in need, along with 50,000 emergency meal kits and 55,000 family meals.
“All Hands and Hearts launched a volunteer program in Los Angeles to assist with food distribution and free COVID-19 testing, in partnership with the Los Angeles Food Bank and CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort),” says Aline Guidry, Director of U.S. Operations for All Hands and Hearts. “The masks donated by KEEN will support local community members, medical facilities and nonprofits that are working with vulnerable populations in the Los Angeles area, as well as help protect our staff and volunteers. We are grateful to KEEN for facilitating this important initiative to help promote safety.”
Meanwhile, in Canada, with your help we were able to donate an additional 6,000 masks to boys and girls in need (2 masks for every purchase made on Cyber Monday) through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. The masks will be distributed to different clubs throughout the country as they work to provide safe, supportive places where children can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life.
We can make a bigger difference together. Thank you to every one who helped make these donations possible!
Formed after the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, All Hands and Hearts has worked with local communities and global volunteers to help build disaster-resilient schools, homes, and other community infrastructure after natural disasters around the world. We also entered the world of disaster response after the 2004 tsunami, and we've partnered with All Hands and Hearts since 2012’s Superstorm Sandy. Since then, we have joined relief and rebuilding efforts on-the-ground for Hurricanes Harvey, Maria, Florence, Michael, as well as supporting earthquake, hurricane and flood responses. We believe in doing our part to create a positive effect in the world. We call it the KEEN Effect.
