2010 HybridCare Map

KEEN Australia’s is so excited to be paired with the Australia ZOO and WildLife Warriors!!!

The world was in shock after a Koala, now dubbed “Frodo” suffered indescribable injuries. After two successful operations the Koala Joey has gained weight and its fur has started to growing back.  WildLife Warriors was established in 2002 by Steve and Terri Irwin, their mission: dedicate all their valuable resources to helping save endangered animals. KEEN Australia’s commitment is just as strong, donating a percentage of KEEN sales to Wildlife Warriors. KEEN Australia donated 500 recycled bags for the Steve Irwin Memorial Gala Dinner, hosting a marquee at the ZOO on 15th November (Steve Irwin Memorial Day) and donated 1200 KEEN lunch bags to the Australia ZOO stores with all proceeds going to Wildlife Warriors.

Australia Zoo on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland, is nestled on over 70 acres of natural Australian bushland. With over one thousand gorgeous native and exotic animals, a line up of interactive animal encounters, an action-packed 24-hour wildlife hospital and one amazingly adventurous Zoo crew, there is never a dull moment at Australia Zoo.

With 14 free wildlife shows daily, you can get hands-on with our cuddly koalas, waddling wombats, slithering snakes and cute kangaroos. Come face to face with our majestic tigers, gorgeous elephants or leapin’ lemurs, and get your photo taken with a baby alligator.

Wildlife Warriors Worldwide Ltd was established in 2002 initially by Steve and Terri Irwin as a way to include and involve other caring people to support the protection of injured, threatened or endangered wildlife. Keen Australia is proud to be associated with Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors, through this partnership valuable funds are raised.

Victorian Alps of Australia – Del’s Race Report From Bogong to Hotham

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

In the last few months, Del managed to rope many people into participating in her Bogong to Hotham (in the Victorian Alps of Australia northeast of Melbourne) 64km attempt in one way or another. Her generous friends and family donated over $1000 for asthma awareness to the Asthma Foundation, accompanied Del in training and tolerated working her life around running. Worse still her less sporty friends just listened to Del talking about it.

On Sunday 10th January, at 4am Del ate breakfast at a picnic table under the stars. She smeared protective grease on to her feet and tied her shoe laces numerous times . In her head Del had the split times required to make the half way checkpoint before cut-off time, assuring a chance to finish, and although it was going to be hard she’d decided there was no way she wasn’t making it. There were 107 starters, only 48 of whom made it to the finish.
