All the best features of a hiking shoe and a sandal in one comfortable style. Open vents in the waterproof leather provide breathability, and the multi-directional lug outsole bites into tough terrain.

  • 4mm multi directional lugs
  • Contoured heel lock
  • Secure fit lace capture system
  • Torsion stability ESS shank

We've carefully selected leather uppers designed to last. Then again, if you're wearing your KEENs daily, they won't always be scuff and dirt-free. To treat day to day wear and tear, especially on lighter color leathers, we recommend using a leather cleaner and conditioner, found at most footwear dealers and/or shoe repair shops.

There are a million and one Keen sandal colors...but in this design...just one...dull brown. I love these because I can wear my orthodics with them without the orthodic slipping out the back sling. They were comfortable with no break in period. Some are saying they are a half size too big, but with an orthodic, my actual size was the right size. I wore them on a nearly 20 day trip to Thailand and Cambodia where we walked A LOT. I wore light no-show black socks with them to avoid blisters and they were champs. I mean CHAMPS. When I got home, I ran them through the washer, removed the inserts and air dried them all..good as new. Traction was great. (I had a pair of H20 Keens that I got rid of because A...despite non-microbial...they stunk...always, and I wore them to the beach where rocks are slippery and they had ZERO grip.) But these are amazing. I'm not sure how they would do as an actual water shoe...I didn't test them out for that. Now that I have arthritis in my feet and have to have a substantial shoe most of the time WITH orthodics...I would buy more of these in other colors...if only they were available. I bought mine about a year ago.

Comments about KEEN Women's Arroyo II:

My 92 year old mother-in-law had virtually stopped walking, even in the house, due to painful feet, swollen ankles and hammer toes, even though she had orthopedic shoes. I got her a pair of Arroyo II shoes size 10 and she walks everywhere now over all kinds of terrain. She ditched her insoles for the Keen insoles provided with this shoe.
Ordering some sandals and water proof shoes next!

Comments about KEEN Women's Arroyo II:

Overall, this sandal/hiker is great but not without a few flaws. Can't wait to go hiking in them at a National Park later on this week. I will start with the pros: color combo and overall design/aesthetic is cute (cute as hiking shoe get at least...), toe protection due to the bumper, good grippy traction due to sole design, leather is buttery soft, adjustable fit, good airflow/ventilation, and they are comfy with good arch support. Now on to the cons: insole is only okay (it could use more cush and more arch), something I do not expect with Keens. I had to replace with my own insole from a pair of Merrell hikers actually. Also, the heel is much too wide if you do not have already have a wide foot. I have a normal/narrow foot and due to this, I had to cinch up the laces extra tight to keep my heel from slipping. May have to buy an anti-slip product due to this in the future. The material that is used in the heel (neoprene possibly?) is very soft which I like, but unfortunately, this causes some slipperiness.

Additionally, I agree with the votes for more color options, please. A slight redesign suggestion I have is to make all or maybe one model unicolor (black)- I have the Chocolate Chip/Sap Green color and the different color pieces of the sole and then different color upper do look a bit funky. I do not mind though. Maybe a pair of traditional laces could be included too- for both looks and a second option.

Love this sandal, but need more colors!!

Comments about KEEN Women's Arroyo II:

I am a big fan of the Voyageur, and I feel like the Arroyo is the "cooler cousin" to that hiking shoe--for the hot summer months. This shoe offers the great support of a hiker but has the ventilation of a sandal. They run a bit large, but I got mine in my regular size so I could wear with or without socks, and so far they perform well. My only issue is the color options (of which there are NONE, since this shoe is only offered in dark brown). Please offer this in a dark gray or even a olive green or black version. I like to wear these shoes to work in the summer but the brown color (with green accents) limits their versatility. I see that most other reviewers are asking for more colors! Please listen to us, Keen! This shoe is otherwise wonderful and an excellent purchase!

Comments about KEEN Women's Arroyo II:

These shoes are great. I've worn my pair for years now but I'm so tired of this brown color and have been asking Keen for more than a year to offer this in more colors. They said last fall that this year (2017) there would be more colors but I don't see anything but brown. :(
