This waterproof hiking boot keeps your feet dry and lets them breathe, and the aggressive outsole bites into the terrain. It's built for all-day comfort, and the mid-cut height adds ankle support.

  • 4mm multi directional lugs
  • Contoured heel lock
  • KEEN.Dry waterproof breathable membrane
  • Torsion stability ESS shank

We've carefully selected leather uppers designed to last. Then again, if you're wearing your KEENs daily, they won't always be scuff and dirt-free. To treat day to day wear and tear, especially on lighter color leathers, we recommend using a leather cleaner and conditioner, found at most footwear dealers and/or shoe repair shops.

I'm a park ranger in upstate NY. I've worn the same pair of boots daily for almost 3 years now. I hike at least 15 miles a week, sometimes a lot more. They've been through two wildland fires. They're still water proof and just starting to show signs of stitching coming loose. These boots are rugged, yet very light weight. My feet stay dry, yet cool throughout the warmer months. Great boots, I highly recommend to anyone into minimalist footwear but still need a tough boot. These come closer to meeting those requirements than anything else on the market. They're very low profile, but have enough cushioning so that sharp rocks don't hurt. They're also very wide in the forefoot which is important for foot health. My two criticisms would be that they don't have a very classic leather boot look and that the ankle doesn't come up high enough or tighten enough. When bushwhacking I get lots of sticks and leaves in the boot.

Just under 4 months ago I purchased these boots and I absolutely love them. They are by far some of the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. They may be laced up to be snug without being or feeling too tight. I feel confident and stable when walking on rocks or boulders. Traction seems good on wet surfaces. I like the "wider" front of the boot which keeps my toes from feeling cramped. I feel they provide great ankle support. They have kept my feet dry (as they're supposed to). Their easy to get in and out of too. I would certainly purchase another pair in the future even though this morning, one of the eyelets (actually a banded nylon loop) where the shoelace goes through broke... Typically for me, if something actually "brakes" under normal use/conditions... I would give it a 1 star especially since it's less than a year! But only because I love these boots Sooo much, I will give it 3 stars. I called REI this morning and was told to bring them in pickup a new pair under warranty... So all is not lost... I have read in other reviews of this happening as well. I can only hope that KEEN takes note and shares this quality control issue with their manufacturers...

Well, these rather spendy boots have failed me after just 2 1/2 years of moderate use. A simple design flaw (lace guides) will render these boots useless very soon.

Comments about KEEN Men's Targhee II Mid:

These are by far my favorite pair of Keens I own. I bought them back in November and have hiked several miles in them since then. I've had them up against mud, snow, streams, canyons, and just plain old roads. I've even worn them for my job a few times. I've had them submerged by mistake and all I had was a cold foot but not wet. My only problem is I wish they had a bit more room, but that's because my feet are a high profile style and have very high arches. So it's just me and not the boot. next time I'll try their wide width.

All in all, great pair of boots that I wish I had more pairs of.

I'm on my fourth pair of Keen Targhee's. I have owned three pair of the mids and one pair of the low tops. Fantastic shoes.
