Working at the airport for an air cargo company, we move a lot of freight and big pallets in and out of airplanes. When I was working I had a 4000 lb+ pallet pin my foot against part of the roller deck it was being moved across, stopped the pallet dead in its tracks. It destroyed the heel of the boot (hole in the side and tore the heel guard from the tread) but left me my foot completely unharmed.

Manager said he has seen ankles and feet broken in this fashion and was surprised that my foot was ok.

I replaced them with another pair because I liked them so much and they truly protected my feet. Only gave them 4 stars because I do not know how they would of held up in the long run, I have only been wearing them a couple months and they were showing some decent signs of wear already, especially in the stitching and tread.

Worst pair 9f boots I've owned

I haven't had these boots for a year yet. The toe stich in gave out in the first month and the souls are cracked out already.

Comments about KEEN Men's Tacoma Waterproof (Composite Toe):

This boot is ok. The problem I have with this boot is they are heavy on the feet. I thought the composite toe would make them lighter, also the sole of the boot hangs out pass the boot ,and acts as a tripping hazard. They are a bit clunky and heavy,But I like the large toe box, for us wide foot people, and the composite in easier on the toe's than steel. The problem is Keen has a lack of options for Black boots, and composite toe, and large toe box. You put all that together and this is your only choice.Keen will you give us more choices in Black boots in the future???

Comments about KEEN Men's Tacoma Waterproof (Composite Toe):

Don't let the title fool you! By never again, I meant never again will I buy a pair of Timberland work boots. These boots are the MOST comfortable safety shoes I've ever owned! Plus, I don't sound like a Tennessee walker when I'm wearing them! I hadn't heard of Keen before I bought these, but you guys have found a new customer!

    Good work boot

Comments about KEEN Men's Tacoma Waterproof (Composite Toe):

These are good work boots, definitely not waterproof at all, walking through a little snow or very shallow water puddle, leaves me with wet feet everytime. Durable. Comfortable. A little upset that they claim they are waterproof. Great lightweight work boot otherwise.

    Not Waterproof

Comments about KEEN Men's Tacoma Waterproof (Composite Toe):

These boots fit well, but still not as comfortable as the Portland PR. The boot seems to hold up well for working except the waterproofing. I walked through a couple of 1 inch puddles and get wet socks every time. I never had that issue with my old Keens (Portlands) I could stand in 3 inches of water and still come out with dry feet.
