I bought these after the Oregon PCT was discontinued (would still love for PCT to comeback!). I called customer help and they suggested the Pittsburgh as similar to the PCT, and she was right. I never would have looked in the work boot category if she hadn't made the suggestion, she was very knowledgeable about their products. I have a few issues with my right foot, so I was a bit hesitant to change styles. I decided to try them and I'm glad I did. They ran true to size. I ordered wide width. The left fit perfect and my right had to be stretched a little (at a shoe shop) at the ball of the foot. That's only because of problems that have developed over the years. The little bit of stretch saved me from crippling pain from a neuroma. I love them, I'm a wildlife biologist and I've worn them daily for 8 months in the field as a hiking boot.

I thought I had found a footwear company worthy of my hard earned money when I discovered the Keen line of boots. A good looking and seemingly well made boot that claimed to be waterproof besides.

Closer inspection resulted in immediate disappointment when I discovered the boots (Pittsburgh soft toe) were manufactured in China, .... but still commanded a premium price. However, it was a good looking waterproof boot with the fit and design I was after so I took the chance.

The service these boots were subjected to was casual hiking and general yard work wear. (yard work, snow shoveling, etc) They were comfortable and seemed to wear well for the first few months. Although routinely cleaned and treated with a well known brand of waterproofing it didn't take long for my "waterproof" boots with the "metatomical cushioning footbed" to leak like a sieve. It seems the "full on fusion of versatility, freedom of movement, durability, and protection" failed miserably and freely allowed water to wick from the outside in.

If you're looking for a boot and your expectation is that it stay waterproof in any environment more harsh than wet cut grass, you would be well advised to look elsewhere.

Love these shoes until they changed from three lace hooks at the top to two. With the two hooks I find that they come loose easy. With three I never had them come loose. Great shoe besides that

I have had a pair of the Pittsburgh soft toes for a long time. They have been great. I would get another pair of them if they would offer more color options. I don't like the only color option that Keen offers.

Comments about KEEN Men's Pittsburgh (Soft Toe):

I thought this was going to be a really great pair of boots until the soles wore off of them in less than 6 months. I get it that arborist work is a little hard on the body and equipment, and I guess I'm still looking for a pair of boots that works as hard as I do. SO...Disappointed is about right. Too bad too they were really comfy, just don't last for the money.

I'm an electrical worker (Hydro plant). Most EH rated boots are really uncomfortable for me. Keen boots work for me. I have worn this pair for approximately two years. Durability is good and you can get them in a wide.
