I hope someone at Keen will read this post, because I want to give some ideas. The keen Newport h2 (no leather) are fantastic for trekking as they are, with few abrasive surfaces. I use the sandals with socks and as your inner sole is rubber, the foot slides gently to walk without causing friction or blisters because foot sweat functions as a kind of lubricant between the rubber and the foot as it evaporated. I usually do over 500 km per year in all types of floor and the only thing that can be improved is the amortization for better comfort on hard floors, especially when we carry a heavy rucksack (10 kg). However, the insole should continue to be rubber because if it is a rough material that is used in almost every insoles of trekking shoes, mountain or in general walking, this causes too much friction and ... blisters. Next year, I intend to make 1000 km in a month on the Santiago Way and hope there is news in Keen. The Arroyo II seems to be good but at the back, they should be more like Newport h2 to reduce the friction zone in the heel, and the insoles should be rubber. Thank you.

Love these sandals.... very comfortable to wear. However, they don't last as long as they should. Soles of shoe have plenty of life left in them, however, the stitching at back is falling apart. Very poor quality. The same thing happened to a previous pair that I owned. Very disappointing.

Apparently this is a very common issue with this product..... just go to Amazon or REI and read the reviews.

    Buyer beware

Comments about KEEN Men's Newport H2:

The stitching on my right shoe is already starting to fall apart. I bought the H2 Newports Jan 28th, 2017. They only lasted about 3 and a half months before they started falling apart. Not good for a pair of shoes for which I paid $106. Other reviews on this site have reported the same problem about these sandals and the problem has obviously not been corrected. I sure hope that I can still exchange them!

      Keen sandals are popular

Comments about KEEN Men's Newport H2:

Keen sandals are popular out here in durango Colorado so I tried out a pair for trail hiking and walking around town. At the time I was walking 4 to 12 miles a day about 3 to 4 days a week on trails, sidewalks and river trails. I was so pleased with the comfort and wearability that I took them on a 500 mile pilgrimage across Spain in 2016. I walked 6-14 miles per day for 45 days straight in all types of weather and they performed better than I could have hoped for. My wife did the same. Next year we are walking another pilgrimage in France and will have the same walking/hiking sandals. Thanks for the great product.

We had bad shoes for our last beach outing so we did some research and bought these for our upcoming trip. We tested them out at the hot springs and did some hiking in them and they were very comfortable. We think our beach trip will be much better this year because of these shoes.

      I have Charcot Marie Toot

Comments about KEEN Men's Newport H2:

I have Charcot Marie Tooth Disease and increasingly over time have balance issues due to muscle loss in my hands and feet. I have been falling a lot lately so I bought a pair as I felt I needed something more stable. As a woman who wears Women's Size 13, I usually have to wear Men's size 12. These are perfect!!! I now can walk with confidence. I am looking for other colors to complement my outfits.
