Please choose a size!

This work boot offers steel-toe protection, stability and a slip-resistant sole, so you can focus on your work. It's comfortable and durable, and the height is ideal for demanding jobs that need more coverage.

  • Contoured heel lock
  • KEEN.Dry waterproof breathable membrane
  • Left and right asymmetrical steel toe
  • Meets or exceeds ASTM F2412-11 and F2413-11 I/75 C/75 EH standards

Overall these boots have been great for me. Like other keens they were almost immediately comfortable. They have excellent traction, I don't think I've ever slipped while wearing them, and I'm a big guy, 6'5" 250 lbs. With the right sock, they keep my feet warm as well. I've had them for about a year, and recently they started developing problems. Some of the tread started to come apart on the sole, and the stitching started to come apart where the nubuck is lapped at the heal of the boot. Nevertheless, the boots continue to perform exceptionally. I contacted Keen to see if I could have them repaired, but they suggested filing a claim instead. I did and after maybe a week and a half Keen approved my claim, so now I intend to replace them with the exact same pair. If they hadn't I wouldn't have bought Keen again, but they did, and that's pretty awesome. Thanks Keen.

As everyone knows Keen makes an excellent pair of shoes, which is why I had purchased a pair of the Detroit 8in work boots. I work at a OSB mill so we have lots of everything to put a pair of boot to the test. When I first received them they were like any other work boot I have had, they took some time to break in and they did get pretty comfortable. After about 3 months of wearing my boots I noticed that the rubber outer sole had started to come apart and ever since then it has been all down hill from there. I have had these less than a year, the sole is coming a part still and the rubber toe cap has also separated from the boot. Like I said before Keen makes a great shoe and will continue to do so. The Detroit 8in would probably make a good boot for someone in a construction work environment. They did not work well for me in an industrial work place.

    Impressed so far

I had never heard of Keen boots, but I have been looking for a boot that lasts more then 6 months. I am a truck driver and for some reason every boot I have bought in the last 13 years has not fared well. I am very impressed with the Detroit so far, there is no break in period; like others have said. Hopefully in a year, I can give a good update.

    Good boots!

Love my KEEN boots, they are warm, fit well, rugged. My only gripe is the tongue does not come up high enough and the laces tend to cut into my shin. If the tongue were about an inch longer/taller, I would rate these 5 stars!

    Habitat Maintenance Work

I like the form of these boots. I can put them on without having to hold the tongue open because the shape holds itself. However, this shaped design can also cause sore spots on my foot because it doesn't have the give of some of my other safety-toe work boots. I find the heel piece and the toe piece sometimes cause blisters even with thick wool socks. I am happy with the weight and the waterproofing. I love the height. I work in habitat maintenance where I have to hike over rough terrain while carrying equipment and dragging brush. Walking thorough water and working in the rain are not uncomfortable in these boots. I love the way the laces of these boots stay put in their hooks. Even if the laces come untied, the boots do not loosen.

I work in the Pulp and Pa

I work in the Pulp and Paper Industry. I'm an electrical/instrumentation tech. I work inside/outside all year long. These boots are the best I've ever had. They are comfortable from the first time I put them on. No break in period. Right before I bought these, I purchased a pair of Redwings and wore them maybe two weeks. They are still sitting in the closet. That's been over a year ago now. They aren't as comfortable as the Keens and they weigh a ton. The keens feel like tennis shoes in weight and comfort. Getting ready to buy a pair of Minot insulated boots for the winter. These boots are holding up well. I've worn Timberlands, Wolverines, Redwings, Lacrosse, and Rockys. The Lacrosse boots would be my second choice.

    Crane and Rigging Work Boots

    By

I work for a crane and rigging company and I am constantly on trailers, on cranes, climbing and walking through all sorts of muck a construction site can produce. These boots have kept my feet dry, the arches supported and literally feel like I am wearing tennis shoes all day long. The ankle support is superb, it holds your ankle and foot in place and greatly helps to prevent rolling ankles. I have owned quite a few pairs of steel toed work boots over the years and I have to say that this boot has surpassed them all in regards to comfort, durability and weight. I know that I will buy more of these in the future.
