The KEEN team downunder is a proud partner of the Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors. KEEN shoes and lunch bags are sold at the Zoo store to fund the care and protection of injured, threatened or endangered wildlife. Further support comes from KEEN donations to Zoo employees and event sponsorship, including Steve Irwin Day. The event not only honors the founder of the Zoo but the conservation work he was passionate about.
About Australia Zoo’s Wildlife Warriors
Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors was established in 2002, initially by Steve and Terri Irwin, as a way to include and involve other caring people to support the protection of injured, threatened or endangered wildlife – from the individual animal to an entire species.
On September 9th, a group of 11 people from KEEN went to Woodlawn Elementary School in Portland, Oregon to deliver more than 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to the entire school. The KEEN Garage had an in-store campaign where they pledged to donate a filled backpack for every pair of shoes sold to Schoolhouse Supplies. The kids, ranging in ages from kindergarten to 8th grade were so excited for and appreciative of their new packs. Each KEEN Skyline and Eaton backpack contained loose leaf paper, crayons or markers, erasers, glue sticks and pencils. What a great way to start the school year!

On June 13th, KEEN and Onlineshoes.com joined forces for their third annual trail work party along the Longfellow Creek Legacy Trail. The work party was organized by the Green Seattle Partnership.
Longfellow Creek is a three mile waterway running south to north through the Delridge Valley in West Seattle and emptying into the Duwamish River at the head of Elliott Bay. The Longfellow Creek watershed is almost 3000 acres in size. Longfellow is one of only four natural waterways left within the Seattle City limits that remains free flowing. During the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, the freelance graphic designer Mitch Morse stopped by our booth to take some photos of the many faces of KEEN. Captured here are KEEN staff and independent sales representatives from around the US.
In the true spirit of KEEN, we are embarking upon what we call A Random Act of KEENness. Today folks around the office were treated to something new in our front lobby – a popcorn machine!
Check out this short video to see what a handful of KEEN employees had to say about popcorn.
Every Friday we have a bagel breakfast for the entire office. This Friday we did something a bit different…raising $2,000 for charities near and dear to KEEN employees.
