Hello,
I have been using the A86 TR’s for a couple months now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about them!!!
One of the features I really want to to praise your shoe designers for is the decision to go with asymmetrical lacing; this is such a huge, huge advantage in comfort and support. It allows me to apply a good amount of lacing tension around the foot to provide a responsive, glove like fit.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THESE SHOES!!

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011KEEN Volunteers with Backyard Collective to Build Trails in Forest Park
Wednesday, August 24th, 2011Nearly 30 people from our office volunteered for this year’s Backyard Collective hosted by the Conservation Alliance (CA) and the Forest Park Conservancy (FPC).
The Backyard Collective provides a great way for CA member companies to volunteer together and to give back to their communities. More than 250 volunteers from CA member companies participated, including KEEN, Columbia Sportswear, Icebreaker, Merrell, Horny Toad, REI, and Egan & Associates.
We split up into teams and headed into the park to work alongside staff and volunteers from the FPC and the City of Portland’s Parks & Recreation Department. The name of the game was trail maintenance and restoration: pulling invasives, hauling rocks, shoveling gravel, digging dirt and re-sculpting the slope. The KEEN team got a special treat! We deconstructed a walking bridge and hauled out the water-logged boards 1 mile back to the trailhead.

KEEN A86 TR Shoes in Action – Meet Rich and His Amazing Dog Makani
Monday, August 1st, 2011Talk about taking discs to a whole new level! Meet Rich and his amazing dog Makani…
Hi, my name is Rich Roskopf and my Recess is playing with my disc dogs. I have loved throwing discs for as long as I can remember. I played ultimate at Oregon State University and after graduation found it increasingly harder to find people who wanted to throw the disc as much as I wanted to…..and to put up with me trying new throws that don’t always end up getting to their intended target. Getting a dog to bring the disc back seemed like the perfect plan. I set my sights on getting a disc dog and ended up with more than I could have imagined.
Playing with my two dogs, Allie and Makani is one of the highlights of my day. What began as simple toss and fetch for their exercise and my entertainment has evolved into increasingly technical and innovative maneuvers and tricks. Sometimes I think I am training them to obey commands and more often than not, they are reminding me to just play.
I’ve gravitated toward the A86′s. The minimalist design gives me the right amount of protection, traction, shape and feel without getting in the way. I now think of them as part of my uniform when I am getting ready to go out and play. They are a lot like putting on a pair of my own feet.
