Portland is home to a whole lot of bike activity, and KEEN loves supporting it! On May 13th, Portland-based Epic Wheel Works, a custom wheel-building outfit, hosted its Live the Revolution party, a celebration of one year in business and a benefit for Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s Safe Routes to School Program.
Safe Routes to School is a growing international and national effort to increase the number of kids walking and bicycling to school. The result: healthier kids and safer, more vital communities. A passionate advocate for bikes and bike lifestyle, Jude Kirstein, founder of Epic Wheel Works, likes supporting programs that encourage two-wheeled transportation for all ages. “I believe investing in the next generation of cyclists,” said Kirstein.
We threw in a couple of Coronado Cruisers to raffle off in order to help support the cause. All in all, Epic Wheel Works raised $950 for the BTA, a definite success!
